Chris Pine Not “Close to Signing” as Captain America

“Chris Pine is Captain America?” Perez Hilton wants to know.

According to rumors, Star Trek‘s Captain Kirk is “close to signing” to become that other “Captain” (aka Steve Rogers) for Marvel’s planned 2011 film, The First Avenger: Captain America.

But anyone hoping to see Chris don the shield may have to Pine for a little while.

A source close to Pine tells Gossip Cop there’s been “no offer at all.”
