Chris Martin “Carpool Karaoke” Video With James Corden On “Late Late Show”
The newest installment in Corden’s popular series kicked off with the late-night host driving alone when he spotted Martin hitchhiking to this weekend’s Super Bowl in San Francisco, where Coldplay will play the halftime show. Naturally, Corden agreed to give the rocker a lift. And thus began a road trip that included getting lost, driving exhaustion, and of course, some karaoke. There was also talk about the rules of football, which neither Brit knew, and Martin did an impression of Mick Jagger.
The Coldplay frontman also said he looked up to Bruce Springsteen, U2 and Bruno Mars, about whom Corden said, “No one will else come close to what he did at that Super Bowl show.” At another point, the two exhausted men checked into a motel, where they spooned in bed. The following morning, they left their room only to find the car was stolen, and they had to ride a tandem bike to San Francisco.
Among the songs the two men belted out during the bit were “Adventure Of A Lifetime,” “Yellow,” “Viva La Vida,” “Fix You,” “Hymn For The Weekend,” “Paradise,” and “A Sky Full Of Stars.” They also sang David Bowie’s “Heroes.”
Corden will actually have another “Carpool Karaoke” segment this week, when a special edition of the “Late Late Show” airs after the Super Bowl. For that one, Elton John will be the passenger. Currently, Adele’s version, which came out last month, reigns as the most-viewed, stealing the title from Justin Bieber. Check out the full video of Chris Martin’s “Carpool Karaoke” with Corden below!
