Chris Evans will be “Captain America” on the big screen

After weeks of speculation and a dozen names being tossed into the mix, we have a “Captain America.”

Chris Evans is set to play the title role in the film adaptation of the legendary Marvel character.

Evans, who has already played a superhero in the Fantastic Four franchise, will carry the shield after being chosen for the role over a number of other leading men.

A rep for the actor wouldn’t officially confirm.

    Variety and Deadline are also reporting Chris accepted role. That’s as good as it being confirmed by his rep. Deadline and especially Variety wouldn’t have posted it if they were not almost a 100 percent sure.

    I’m not completely dissapointed with this news, but I almost feel like Jon Hamm would have been a better choice.
