Chris Brown to tell his side of Rihanna story to 20/20

Truth rating: 10

It’s been confirmed that Chris Brown will be on ABC’s “20/20″ on December 11.

In the interview, Brown will talk in-depth about his assault of ex-girlfriend Rihanna, and will plug his new album “Graffiti.”

Parts of the interview will likely also air on “Good Morning America,” which this week canceled Adam Lambert’s appearance.

Already people have begun to complain about the fact that “Good Morning America” would give airtime to Brown, but not Lambert. What we can tell you is that the Brown interview was taped BEFORE Lambert’s performance at the American Music Awards.

Now, as to whether ABC give a woman beater airtime is an issue entirely unto itself, and apparently the network, which interviewed Rihanna last month, decided it was fine with them.

What are your thoughts about ABC having Brown on “20/20”?

i think that good morning America letting Chris brown make an appearance is stupid they wouldn’t let Adam Lambert on because of his performance on the AMAs but they would let a women beater on there instead that is much worse then what Adam Lambert did

ABC has some serious issues. Well, actually not all of ABC, since I find ABC in general to be pretty gay friendly. Its more the staff and producers of Good Morning America. GMA needs to be slammed for their bigoted actions.
GMA isnt making a stink over Janet Jackson grabbing a dancers crotch, or Rihanna’s risque outfit…but let Adam kiss a man and all hell breaks loose. (And CBS blurring the kiss then immediately showing Madonna/Britney kiss UN-blurred is just as bad). His performance may have been provocative, but most rock/concert ones are. Cripes, lingerie and vagasil commercials are more offensive.

It’s not ABC per se, but GMA …and their decision to give a woman beater face time just shows their agenda. GMA’s attempt to put a gay man ‘in his place’ is disgusting.

I think it’s a really poor decision on the part of GMA. Although I didn’t enjoy Adam’s performance and I like Adam it was more because it was just a poor performance. He didn’t need to do all the things he did. He just needs to really sing. But then for GMA to cancel him because of it using the excuse that they couldn’t have him possibly do a repeat of it during their daytime show. Come on. I think Adam knew the difference between doing an 11pm performance and an 8am performance. Now the fact that a man that beat the crap out of his girlfriend is acceptable but Adam wasn’t is just plain disgusting. Chris has already told his side more then once. I haven’t been impressed yet and have no intention of listening to his excuses again. I certainly will not tune in to watch a performance by him either. GMA is giving off a very poor message.

This is to talk about Chris Brown’s appearence coming up, and you people are still caught up on Adam Lambert. He hasn’t even been in the industry that long, we don’t know how his career will end up. Now about Chris, I cannot believe that he even did what he did to Rhianna, but he still needs to get it out, not that it will change anything…and from there, and most importantly, we’ll see how his allbums sell when his latest album comes out. We’ll see if his fans forgive him or not. I assume that he lost some of his fans, but he obviously hasn’t lost all of his fans. I am not going to watch it, but I am going to see how well he does or doesn’t do after his album comes out, and see what the numbers are

Its okay to give a woman beater publicity and a chance to share his excuses, but when Adam Lambert has a sexual performance he doesn’t get a chance to show that he is about so much more then that performance — Yeah thats really healthy ABC .

So ABC wants to give Chris Brown a chance to tell his side of the story. I believe he did that in court and was convicted. No one is really interested in the details from his viewpoint of how he abused Rhianna. How about dumping the Chris Brown interview (since ABC does those kind of things) and reinstating Adam Lambert’s concert in its place? Right the wrong…..

What side of the story? He had no right to do to her what he did, end of story.

  • spinilli

The reason Adam is being brought up, Leo Thomas, is because GMA had just canceled Adam for being afraid his performance would be too sexual but then announces it’s okay for a woman beater like Chris Brown to perform. Sending out a wrong message much?

Woman Beater…. lmao… I like Chris Brown… I think he’s awesome and I also think that people make mistakes and if we didn’t make mistakes there would be no learning experiences. I’m a walking testimony. I’ve been abused by my husband. Chased down the street while holding my baby and even pushed out of a moving vehicle. I don’t think what he did was ok and I feel bad for Rihanna. However we are not here to pass judgement on his short comings or mental issues. We don’t know what caused him to lose it that night and we don’t know what happened in his life that made him flip out on her in that way.
