Chris Brown ‘Nervous’ About Possible Run-In With Rihanna At BET Awards,” blares a so-called “exclusive” from HollywoodLife, which claims Brown is “considering not attending the festivities in an effort to avoid an unpleasant confrontation with RiRi.” Brown, who was released early from jail on Monday, is nominated for three awards at the June 29 ceremony.

The webloid writes, “As Chris continues to work through his anger management issues and rebuild his life and career, he doesn’t want anything or anyone to remind him of his past mistakes — especially Rihanna herself!” “That’s why he’s thinking about skipping this year’s BET Awards altogether,” alleges HollywoodLife. The outlet goes on to quote a “source” as speculating, “It may not be the best place for him to be because Rihanna might be there and it’s probably too soon for him to be in the same room as her.”

“He’s still working on his feelings and emotions and just doesn’t need anyone to say anything smart or even look at him the wrong way,” adds the supposed HollywoodLife snitch. The blog even goes as far as claiming Brown “is too paranoid to leave his house.” And yet the singer was photographed out in Beverly Hills on Thursday.

Of course, HollywoodLife has already proven to be unreliable when it comes to both Brown and Rihanna, and this time is no different. A source close to the situation exclusively tells Gossip Cop that the story is “ridiculous,” slamming the site for spreading “nonsense” a mere four days after his release.

We’re further told that while Brown is not yet officially confirmed for the awards show, whether he’ll attend has nothing to do with Rihanna. It’s worth noting that HollywoodLife also claimed Rihanna and Brown would “make their renewed love public at the 2012 BET Awards” and, of course, that never happened.
