Chris Brown addressed the state of his relationship with Karrueche Tran and his baby bombshell in an interview with Ryan Seacrest on Tuesday. Listen below.

The call-in to “On Air With Ryan Seacrest” came three months after Tran dumped Brown after it was revealed he fathered a child, Royalty, with another woman, and just a few days after the exes had a disastrous run-in at a Los Angeles nightclub. “I’m going to be honest and be a man about it, and just take it one day at a time,” Brown says of wanting to reunite with Tran.

He explains, “I can’t promise anything, and I can’t jump over the moon, but it takes time for all wounds [to heal]. I take full responsibility for my actions and things that I’ve done in the past. I just feel like it’s just a time thing.” Brown goes on, “I’m not a hateful person. Of course I still love her, but mentally right now, I just think everything takes time. I think I just need to focus on being the best father I can be.”

The singer, who says he has custody “every other week,” says finding out he had a child was a “blessing in disguise.” “Because I get a chance to look at her, and, you know, teach her the right path, and also be a father in my daughter’s life,” Brown tells Seacrest. “Just to see a smile on her face, just to see the littlest things, is emotional for me, so I just love that aspect of being able to be a father now.”

Brown further notes, “There comes a time when people kind of have to grow up, and kind of start to become more of an adult, and take on different responsibilities.” The star also talks about “spoiling” his daughter. Listen to the full interview below, and tell us what you think.
