Court: Rihanna and Chris Brown Can Hang Out Again

Chris Brown no longer has to keep his distance from Rihanna.

Today, Superior Court Judge Patricia Schnegg eased Brown’s restraining order after Rihanna’s attorney said the singer didn’t object to having the stay-away order removed.

Previously, Brown had to stay a minimum of 50 yards away from the singer following his assault of his then-girlfriend back in 2009. The restriction was later reduced to 10 yards, if the two performers were both at a music-related event.

Now, Brown and Rihanna are free to see each other and speak, if they want to, with the one caveat that should the rapper harass, annoy or threaten Rihanna, he could be found in violation of his probation.

Judge Snegg noted that she would not have lifted the restrictions had Rihanna objected.

Brown left the court with a copy of the new order, which remains in effect until his probation ends in August 2014.
