Chris Brown Released Early From Jail
Chris Brown has been released early from jail. The singer, who had been in custody since March (when he was booted from court-ordered treatment), was sentenced in an L.A. court on May 9 to an additional 131 days behind bars for violating his probation in the Rihanna assault case.
But now Brown has been sprung early. He was released right after midnight on Monday morning, though no reason has been given for the shortened jail time. During the May court appearance, a judge actually sentenced Brown to 365 days behind bars, but gave him credit for the 116 days he already spent in rehab and the 59 days he had spent in jail.
Brown’s still on the hook for the fight last October in Washington, D.C. fight, where he was accused of attacking a man outside the W Hotel. That trial is slated to begin in a few months.
Following his release, Brown tweeted, “Humbled and Blessed,” “Back to the Music and the Fans,” and “Thank You GOD.”
