Truth rating: 10

Chris Brown will perform at the Grammy Awards on Sunday, a rep confirms to Gossip Cop exclusively.

Brown is nominated for three honors at this year’s ceremony.

The “F.A.M.E.” hit maker has been absent from the awards since 2009, when he assaulted then-girlfriend Rihanna at a pre-Grammys party.

He is currently serving five years probation for that attack.

A number of huge names – including Adele, Nicki Minaj, Taylor Swift and Katy Perry – are slated to take the stage.

Rihanna is also scheduled to perform at this weekend’s show.

The Grammys, hosted by LL Cool J, will be broadcast on CBS live from Los Angeles on Sunday.

good for him. He didn’t kill anyone, and deserves forgivenes. After all, Rihanna forgives him.

  • lori

Why does he “deserve” forgiveness? He has acted like a total a$$ several times since them, completely losing his cool. The guy is an egomaniac with absolutely no impulse control. Oxygen thief.

He doesn’t need forgiveness from you Lori. Keep your ego in check.

He’s performing and nominated what, 6 times in the last 2 years, 11 in his young career so far because he’s talented. Singer, dancer, songwriter.

He doesn’t need my or your forgiveness. The fact that Rihanna has forgiven him is what matters.

His dancers and his choreographer have already hinted that he was going to perform days ago, and Radar Online reported a month ago that he was in talks with producers to perform. Good for him. He’s a talented young man and we live in a world where people get second chances. Even if Lori doesn’t like them!

His number #1 album last year helped. His comeback is pretty much official. Don’t get why him performing is a big shock.

Brown has been nominated for Grammys in five of the last six years. Impressive.

  • Ben

Beating on a girl…what a pathetic little puss.

  • Whatsleft

Maybe the next girl he beats will forgive him too Because after all he is a good singer

  • Pia

Or maybe he got help and will break the cycle of violence? It’s like you want him to do it again. Young people have a great capacity to change.

  • higglty pigglty

Tell that to the chair he threw through a window at NBC, after he supposedly had changed his ways….Brown doesn’t deserve any more forgiveness than the next person, just because he has a bunch of Grammy nominations.
He has to earn the forgiveness by his actions and his attitude. And just because Rihanna forgave him just means that she has moved on and doesn’t need the baggage of hate for him. Each person that is affected by Chris Brown’s violent tendencies must decide for themselves, if he has earned their forgiveness based on how he acts toward them, if he apologized to them and whether they believe he is sincere in his actions toward them. What the rest of the world thinks about him is immaterial.

    i love chris brown he”s a gd performer + singer…….

  • lori

My dislike for Chris Brown has nothing to do with my “ego” or needing to keep my “ego in check.” That doesn’t even make any sense. My dislike for Chris Brown stems from my dislike for abusers and from my complete disbelief that we, as a society, repeatedly excuse bad behavior from celebrities. It’s ridiculous. Having a talent, any talent, doesn’t excuse you from the obligation to behave with common human decency.

  • Being Real

Why is it a big deal to any of you what he did in his relationship? Do u stalk other abusers keeping them from getting a job? No. This is his JOB. He has made quite a few mistakes, but reminding him of them every time he is in the public eye won’t make him better. He’s human. Let the man LIVE. If you don’t like him, then stfu. Don’t comment. We ALL know what he has done. You don’t end a person’s life because they make mistakes. He’s done his time (legally)…let it go!

  • Pandorasblogaustralia

Yes, it IS his job but if it had been anyone else (not in his position with high powered lawyers & money to pay for them) he would have done time in JAIL for what he did. There was no remorse for his actions only remorse that his career was stalled for a while as a result of the negative press. Straight after he was out jetskiing at Diddy’s & partying with a bevy of girls. Rihanna announced publicly that she forgave him because it kept her fans off his back given he was getting threats & gave her the positive support from her fans who get quite edgy whenever there is talk they’re back together. He is STILL having major outbursts when he’s supposedly changed & reinforced his faith….so it’s only a matter of time really, unless of course it’s not someone quite so famous on the receiving end next time and they are paid off to keep quiet. So I agree, he doesn’t deserve the opportunities because he hasn’t learnt a thing & others who work harder & might not have the access to the producers, PR connections, song writers etc deserve a chance.

Too bad his social skills and ability to be a decent human being are about as good as your grammar and punctuation…
