Chris Brown Tested Positive for Pot, Says Judge; Orders Deeper Probation Review

During Chris Brown‘s probation hearing in California on Monday, it was revealed the singer recently failed a drug test, and the judge strongly reiterated how important it is for him to obey all laws.

The judge noted that Brown tested positive for marijuana in June. And while Brown had explained to his probation officers that he ingested the substance in California, where he has a medicinal marijuana card, the judge pointed out that unfortunately the singer had been tested in Virginia.

Regardless, the judge mentioned Brown was never ordered to undergo mandatory drug testing.

There is an ongoing dispute as to Brown’s travel restrictions, and as to how many hours of community service he has completed, with his attorney, Mark Gergagos, telling the judge his client has served 120 hours.

The judge, however, could not make a determination either way, saying she did not receive the reports she had requested, and set a new probation violation hearing for November.

When Gergagos also added that Brown was tired of the probation progress hearings, the judge laughed.

She told the singer, “This is my advice to you… You are not an average person who can sit in their living room and do what you wanna do without anybody watching what you do.”

“You are not only in the public eye, but you are on probation,” she continued, also pointing out that Brown serves as a role model to many of his fans.

“I’m going to caution you that you should be very mindful,” she said.

Brown was also ordered to check in with probation officers in the next 72 hours to go over how many hours of community service he’s completed.
