Chris Brown Leaves Manila After Being Held In Philippines For Three Days (VIDEO)
Chris Brown was finally allowed to leave Manila on Friday after being held in the Philippines for three days because of a contract dispute, stemming from a cancelled New Year’s Eve concert last December. Brown shared the news by posting an Instagram video of himself and a group of friends walking towards a private plane. “Manila it was fun. I love y’all man,” says the singer in the video, adding, “Party tonight! Turn up.” Brown is currently en route to Macau to host a party at Club Cubic. Watch the below.
Before leaving Manila, Brown vented about being detained in Manila in a now-deleted Twitter post, writing, “This is a very serious situation and someone needs to be held accountable for mixing my name up in all this. I’ve done nothing wrong!!!” As Gossip Cop has been reporting, Brown arrived in the Philippines earlier this week for a concert on Tuesday, but discovered afterwards that he wasn’t allowed to leave the country because of a fraud complaint. The Department of Justice and the Bureau of Immigration prevented the singer from departing because a concert promoter filed a complaint demanding Brown repay the reported $1 million advance he was given for the cancelled New Year’s Eve show.
A rep for Brown told Gossip Cop the entire situation was a “misunderstanding.” Still, he wasn’t allowed to board a flight out of Manila until he obtained an emigration certificate, which he received early Friday morning.
