Chris Brown Releases “How I Feel,” References Rihanna Assault (VIDEO)

AUDIO

(GettyImages.com)

Chris Brown released a new, autobiographical song late Thursday.

“How I Feel” traces some of the ups and downs of the R&B performer’s life, including the physical abuse of his mother and an indirect reference to his own 2009 assault on Rihanna.

LISTEN BELOW

“Nineteen, a n***a went through a tragedy,” sings Brown, “Three years, a n***a just found a better me. Yeah, you might find another lover, but you always started with Breezy like the letter B.”

He adds later on, “I’m gonna keep on living my life from day to day/learn from my mistakes.”

In another lyric, Brown complains about media treatment, singing, ”Ain’t never gonna do a 60 minute interview/’Cause all you want to do is twist my words up.”

Your hatred will make him more famous while you all die under your keyboards.

He beat up his girlfriend and he’s the one going through the tragedy? This guy is always playing the victim.

If you downloaded his new song for free why not give back a little bit? If we show artists that we do love when they release free music, maybe they’ll do it more often? Go to http://www.HumanFankind.com to see how !

I’m sure Chris Brown can give a rat’s azz about how you feel about him, because like or not, he’s winning, Grammy award winner, sold out arena tours in 2011, two new movies 2012, a 22 year old multi-millionaire etc. and you actually think they he cares about what a few think of him… I think not!!!

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Dani-Taylor/100001266855193 Dani Taylor

    I concur!

  • Ella

Thats exactly what abusive men do though, they are very good at turning things around to make themselves look like the victim. Classic abusive male!

  • lexoxo2

ok i am a girl and i like chris brown. no i don’t agree with his personal choices and how he acts but his personal and professional life should be separate. yes he beat her but he came from an abusive home. 87% of people that come from abusive homes become abusers themselves. i like his music and he can dance. that’s all the people including all of you should care about him, not his personal choices in life. he isnt seeking to become a role model for anyone, he just wants to make music so just leave him alone

  • Nicety

How is playing the victim. He is acknowleding what he did.How many of you have ever stopped to think about what he went through as a child.Seeing his mother beat and possibly beat himself. You people are so quick to condemn him if this shows anything it shows that domestic violence is a problem that should have been a priority back then and even before then.People get up on their high horses instead of seeing this for what it is.This is not about CB this a problem that has gotten for little coverage until now and even now people are making it about the wrong thing.I never condone what he did but until people stop identifying this as a CB problem and acknowledge it for what it is Domestic violence will continue to be the dirty little secret that doesn’t get talked about until it happens to a celebrity. There are little boys out there know growing up the same way he did and they have no one to turn to and so they hold it in and grow up and repeat the behavior or the little girl who sees this and grows up into the same situation because she thinks it is normal.Making CB the posterchild does not solve the problem.Again I don’t give him a pass but have you ever thought of the scars he carries around from seeing his mother beat the way he felt helpless and if you never get help for those things you repeat those actions. It is not an excuse it is a fact. There are children everyday that go through this and feel alone and think no one cares because they are not famous. The time people are spending on blaming CB could be spent helping the next child from abusing or being abused.Domestic violence knows no respect of race, fame, status it is a everyday problem that effects a woman every five minutes.CB is just a small fish in a big pond because DV is bigger than him.

  • Nicety

How is it wrong for a man that is socially attacked everyday to want to defend himself? He has never once tried to deny it or downplay it.He has to live with it everyday even when you decide to rant about something else he will still be living with it.This is not something he can or will ever forget. So why do you feel it is necessary for him to apologize to an unforgiving public everyday? People don’t live according to our standards doesn’t make them wrong.Him living his life doesn’t mean he has no remorse or doesn’t think about what he did.People are human and you can’t keep crucifying someone and not expect them to react.None of us are wired like that.Someone keeps coming at you and coming at you eventually you are going to react. So why should he be any different? He did a horrible thing but at what point did he become this angels that is supposed to walk the straight and narrow to please people.Do you live your life to please people? If the answer is no my next question is do you think he is better than you? If again the answer is no, why would you hold him to a higher standard than you hold yourself?

  • Blue Ivy Carter

    i agree

  • Blue Ivy Carter

If he talks , there’s a problem. If he keeps quiet, there’s a problem. What the HELL do you want this man to do?????????????

  • Bribra13

He didn’t talk about beating. Rihanna up wtf

  • Concerned

I am glad he’s singing about his life experience. It will aid in his healing. Acknowledging it helps him bear the weight of that, “tragedy”, they both experienced. Something he has to live with for the rest of his life, and he’s still very young. He’s absolutely doing the right thing and I hope he ignores his haters ’cause they want to hold him back from healing. The very same people that detested what he did would prefer for him to be an abuser than to transform from that characterization. It would make them happy to say, “I told you so”, than to send out healing messages to him that would greatly assist him & maybe others as well. When you see someone trying the good in us should reach out to them. I believe he’s trying and I guess Rihanna does too. The one that truly matters.

  • Mphmlh

It is amazing how we as people can continue to condemn some one for a mistake. Yet we want and even beg for forgiveness of others that we have done much worse to and even are closer to. Remember that the mental abuse that you give to others last a lot longer than the physical abuse that we inflict on others

  • deni

talk trash.ALL ABOUT SELF.once a beater ,always a beater.the percentage is a few who get the help they need.he will beat her again in one piece and still have her mind.

  • Nomahlubi Sanders

No, Ella. It’s called the HEALING process. Just like journaling, word power has the effect of transformation. Fire burns and cleanses. Spoken word – VOICE – does the same thing. Go ahead Chris Brown. ALL YOU NEED IS ONE MIC, babe! God’s not done with you. Don’t listen to the naysayers, much less respond with your silly tweets.

  • Nomahlubi Sanders

You’re right Nicety. It’s called the HEALING process. Just like journaling, word power has the effect of transformation. Fire burns and cleanses. Spoken word – VOICE – does the same thing. • j.auburn

The bottom line is, It’s not about healing, it’s about making money… it doesn’t make them haters because they realize that all in all, it didn’t phase him too much … he’s singing about it because he can turn it around and make money off of it. it’s all about how he can turn bad press into a hustle and hes’ not a victim, so don’t act like he is….

dude was wrong, and picking up trash on the highway doesn’t make up for what he did…

  • j.auburn

in total agreement.. i fear for the next one to be on the receiving end.

  • herpaderpa

So sad when I see little girls saying they like Chris Brown, even sadder that people actually DEFEND an admitted woman beater! Sad world we live in.

  • Jeanninemoore440

so he made a mistake….a young foolish STUPID mistake!!! GET OFF HIS BACK!!!! i do not agree a man should put his hands on a woman, but if he is sincerely sorry, receives counseling and moves on with his life in the RIGHT direction, who r we to keep bashing him???? other actors, singers, ppl in the public eye have made the same mistake and we r not nearly as hard on them.

  • Linda_love857

    hello how are u doing

  • Honestpretty_one

If he talks , there’s a problem. If he keeps quiet, there’s a problem. What the HELL do you want this man to do? This is bron to happen So leave him alone and mind your business..

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_M4O6GGIRGFAR7YCYYMDMWEN4TA MamaMia

When has anyone ever had a problem with Chris Brown keeping quiet?? And it’s ridiculous for you to say people should stay out of his business when he’s always making his business PUBLIC, whether it’s in an interview, on Twitter, or in a song. And what does “This is BRON to happen” mean? You must be CB, because your English is as poor as his.

  • Youngmulaa18

all you haters are going to do is talk shit, and he he’s going to do is make money and live life, he really dont give a fuck #itzasong

  • Ahmad Kareem

Look guys, I don’t believe that he beats her even if i see these pics i still don’t believe until they say it by themselves
    it’s all fake
and why you people like talking about the past and the past is done
and i don’t blame any of them
because anyone sane,When he/she in state of anger will do anything wrong and we all know that before
so we should at least solve our problem before solve their problem

  • Elisia91

did u seriously have to choose that mane as ur user name? FOOL!!!!!!!!!

  • pekingeselover

I agree with everything Nicety said, and the media and everyone just needs to let it go. It was incredibly sad and still makes me sick thinking of it, and all the women that go through it every single day and feel they are deserving of enduring this type of abuse (wow run-on sentence, sorry). It is a stupid lyric though for him to say HE experienced the tragedy when HE wasn’t the one hospitalized after being severely beaten.

Really… I can understand his annoyance with the media. Hell, I’m annoyed when he was on Good Morning America (I think that was it) and he’s trying to talk about his music over 2-3 years later and they keep bringing up Rihanna. He’s been punished enough. But that lyric really IS stupid.

  • Ctelle

…..have any of you actually ever listened to a Chris Brown song lately? Caauussee he might say these things when he’s in front of the cameras, but when he’s in the studio his opinion is clearly different! I don’t think this is about “letting the incident go”, it’s about realizing that Chris AND Rihanna are both STILL clearly troubled people. So, sure, can’t tear them down if they’re really working on it. But I mean…do you really think so??

  • Ctelle

Maybe “CB” should spend more time on himself then and less time singing about having sex with women in the nastiest possible ways and being apparently the most awesome man in the world…just a thought.

People can go through as much as they want, but what you said about not having a pass needs to be actually applied here. He did it and “served his time”, gone to therapy, sure. But do you really think he’s turned a leaf when his music continues to get raunchier? Don’t give me some crud about “it’s his job”. Because anyone who has those kinds of “scars” doesn’t do stuff like that without realizing the connection between it and what you are trying to get away from. It’s like a “recovered” alcoholic working in a liquor store. I mean come on, really?

  • Egw7

LOOSE THIS GUY!!!!!!! HE IS NOT WELCOMED BACK NOW OR EVER!!!!!!

Poor kids, they both were wrong as in any d.v situation… One question, who’s more in the wrong; the abuser or the antagonist who saw it coming and continued to push buttons instead of leaving?

  • http://profile.yahoo.com/53U2KWK6XJXWDV5IW2QPX2SPGQ rchbtch

Part of the reason people are so angry and’ unforgiving’ is that he SHOULD have gone to jail and truly paid for his crime, and not been given so called celebrity justice. Now he gets to go through his ‘healing process’ by making money off battering a woman to a bloody pulp?
He owes the public nothing. maybe so..but if he really wants to heal and move forward and show people he is remorseful, he should tell it privately to his shrink..because all this is saying is …look at me..i beat my girl, i beat the rap, and im gettin paid large for it….

  • Amayakellz

I really think him beating her could be a publicity stunt… They are both celebs. and if it’s not Rihanna makes music with him… She forgave him! So shut up. She antagonized it and he fell prey to that. They are both wrong. A man should not hit a woman but if he wasn’t a celeb no one would even care so stfu! And Yes he’s making money off of it… So riri did! She even made a song about liking s&m… Which makes me think she liked it! Plus it’s his freaking job to make money off of things like that.

Half of the things celebrities do aren’t even real u ignoramus’.

  • Fabulous091

She dont have a problem with him…they friends now so why you guys hating….????

If he had fondled an adolescent girl, got in trouble for it, apologized, and then went to counseling, would you be as quick to call it a young, foolish mistake?

I agree with your very insightful comments. I am in my 50′s and I am a DV survivor.
The man who did this too me would continue to verbally abuse me If I allowed him too. Now he is afraid of me because my rage is still after 40 plus years active. I have not seen him in 10 years and hope I never see him again. DV can ruin people especially involving relationships. Although I do not like CB he and everyone else diserve a second chance. Bottom line…do you think he is the only one who beats women?? CB just got caught. The

Honestly Da fact that u cannot 4give 4 something that didnt even happen to you is sad.. Charliee sheen.. Ike Turner ..O.J..Etc These were all grown men.. Chris was jus a teenage coming into a man,, One thing u can never say About Chris Brown is he’s Talentless he will continue to make mistakes & correct & learned from them he’s human.. I feel sorry for you hateful people because u were the same people saying hateful things about Michael Jackson, so much negative thoughts for people you don’t even know.. Wha would people have said if Chris had Blown Out his Brains ? Glad he’s Dead ? I heard people say that honestly anyone who wish another to take their own life has No Soul.. He is a strong Man & Rihanna as well for goin thru this coming out the way they both did its beautiful to see young people come out of a negative situation with both parties understanding where they were wrong we jus heard saw the outcome but no one knows wha happen in that car. Chris could have been nasty but tho Rihanna explained her story which i believed was pretty accurate i’m sure chris had cuts 2. I have been in Dat situation in a heated agrument i file charges i wanted justice 4 myself wanted him 2 get help & we both did. I was hitting back as well.. Relationships are difficult they were both 2 young expose 2 alot 2 soon.. I respect both Chris & Rihanna for continue to pursue their career staying focus.. When any Relationship Ends sometimes Da Friendship still survives bcoz love was built from frdship. Life is more fulfilling when u don’t carry Hate in ur heart there is a freedom that comes from not being a hateful bitter person they both have decided to move forward. Let Celebrities live how would u feel if people constantly have opnions on ur life some of the things u people write can make any1 wanna take their life its so hateful.. Stay Positive God bless…

  • http://www.facebook.com/Brownskinjules Jules PrettyDarkskin

I think him sayin he went thru it Tragedy was about people being hateful voilent towards him.. Losing someone he loved cuz he messed up..Da Embarassment of wha he did.Losing Indosement deals..His music being Banned from Radio Album Flop.. Friends turning their back on him.. It was a tragedy to him soeme people commit suicuide over that kinda of thing..

You said it Jules! I agree with you. Here’s how I see. Everybody that’s sitting on their butts constantly talking about it – obviously has nothing to do or a life of their own. And guess what? The people who point the finger and have so much trash to talk about others Usually! Positively!! Have WORSE Skeletons in their closets.
Additionally, they haven’t lived enough life themselves to be able to pee or spit straight as is the case with these two very young people. So much more life to live and many more mistakes will be made by ALL OF US! How about just trying to live your life the very best you (as in ) we can. Hell our parents made mistakes and so do we.. some of us ARE mistakes… made by our parents so.. please drop the judgment folks.

Yeah; being young means nothing. My ex started beating me when he was 16. I forgave him gave him another chance and said his age and being a young father was his reasons; he’d change….he never did. He went on to assault others and ended up in jail for almost beating a young man to death. Eleven yrs later and guess what; he’s still an abuser; though not with me…I’ve been clean of him for almost 8 yrs….Don’t play the age card; it doesn’t fly. It takes an abusive partner yrs of therapy to stop the behavior and the behavior does not stop if they are continuing a relationship with the one they abused. I’m still in counselling myself over it. They will always be unhealthy for eachother. It might be months; even yrs; but one day they will strike out at the other again….And sorry; you can’t condemn people speaking on the matter when you yourself are. I understand and appreciate what you are saying; but you are wrong. I almost died from abuse. I’m suffering from it physically and emotionally to this day due to it. Unless you’ve been there; you can’t say what goes on in a person’s head and heart in abusive relationships.

  • Chronicaldawn

You are sitting on your ass too reading the stories; making comments…doesn’t matter if you take his side or her side…don’t act like you are better than people when you are just being hypocritical and ignorant to a situation you cannot even begin to comprehend. Having an opinion is one thing; but blatant hypocrisy is another……

Why hold him to a higher standard maybe because he never came across like he gave two shits for what he did to her. He has acted out like a two year old more than once when he agreed to do interviews. The boy needs to man up and not write a song about how he is so mistreated. He needs an old fashion ass whoopin to let him know just cause he is a musician he cant just do what he wants and expect everyone to treat him as if he were god! He ain’t nothing but a punk from the streets who can dance not sing!

Who was there to witness the fight? Nobody but Chris and Rhianna, look y’all stop crucifying this young man whose to say that she hit him first you should know that when you are a child you think as a child, but when you are a man you put aside all childish thing. He is a man now and he is very talented an actually seems to be very sweet. Leave him alone, “HE WHO IS WITHOUT SIN LET HIM CAST THE FIRST STONE” Y’all make me sick with all of this blame game. I think it all amounts to jealousy. Keep your head up Chris and keep doing what you do best…. nothing but love for you baby.
