Chris Brown Admits “Mistakes” During BET Awards Speech, Says “Thankful” For Daughter (VIDEO)
Chris Brown used his double win at the BET Awards of FANdemonium and Best Male R&B/Hip Hop Artist to publicly acknowledge his “mistakes,” how “thankful” he is for his daughter Royalty, and express his belief that “love” is what’s most important. See the video below.
After being presented with both awards, Brown told the audience, “A lot has changed in my life. A lot of mistakes, a lot of lessons learned. The thing I’m most thankful for is my daughter.” He added, “At the end of the day, love is love. My fans, when I was in jail ‘Loyal’ was number one. Last year, I was fat on this stage trying to get myself together… Without y’all, I can’t do my own music. To know me is to love me. If you ain’t with us, so what?” And with that, Brown ended his acceptance speech.
Brown previously took the stage twice earlier in the show. During the first hour, he performed “Liquor,” the first single off his upcoming album, which will be released in the fall. He was then joined by Tyga for “Ayo” and Omarion and Jhene Aiko for “Post To Be.” Brown then returned later on to perform “All Eyes On You” with Meek Mill and Nicki Minaj. That song just came out a few days ago, and is from Mill’s new album.
