Chris Brown Accused Of Punching Man In Las Vegas During Basketball Game; Rep Denies Singer’s Involvement (EXCLUSIVE)
Chris Brown has been accused of punching another man in Las Vegas during a basketball game in the early morning hours of Monday in The Palms Casino Resort. Brown could face a charge of battery, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department confirms to Gossip Cop. The incident took place in Brown’s over-the-top hotel suite which has its own basketball court. His rep, however, tells Gossip Cop exclusively it’s not true.
The rapper reportedly got into a heated argument with an unidentified man before allegedly hitting him. The alleged victim spoke to the police at Sunrise Hospital and said that a “verbal altercation” with Brown led to him being punched by the singer and a friend of Brown’s. The police went to Brown’s room, but he did not cooperate. So far, no charges have been officially filed.
His rep, however, tells Gossip Cop exclusively it’s untrue. In a statement to Gossip Cop, the singer’s spokeswoman says Brown, who’s in Las Vegas to perform on Tuesday at Drais and receive a Key to the Strip, “has a suite at the hotel that has a basketball court and invited friends to come play. An unruly individual showed up uninvited and was removed from the premises. Chris was not in an altercation with this person.”
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police say, “Brown has been given the option of signing a citation for misdemeanor battery, or having the case submitted to the Clark County District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.” So far, neither Brown nor his attorney has contacted the police.
Of course, this is not the first time Brown has found himself in trouble with the law. As Gossip Cop has extensively reported, Brown pleaded guilty to assaulting then-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009. A judge recently ended his probation in March, stemming from that attack. And in 2013, Brown attacked a man named Parker Adams outside the W Hotel in Washington, DC.
Gossip Cop will update as more information emerges about Brown’s alleged battery while playing basketball inside The Palms Resort.
