Chris Brown Arrested Following Police Standoff, Gun Threat Accusations
Chris Brown was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon on Tuesday following a daylong standoff with police at his Los Angeles home. As Gossip Cop reported, cops were gathered outside the singer’s residence for hours after a woman called 911 alleging Brown threatened her with a gun, but he refused to allow the authorities inside without a warrant.
As Gossip Cop also reported, Brown slammed the cops during an Instagram rant he recorded from inside his house while they were gathered outside. In his video, the rapper denied the allegation that he pulled a gun on a woman. Later, cops reportedly retrieved a gun and drugs from a duffel bag the rapper threw out the window of his home. Brown’s accuser was later identified as a beauty pageant winner named Baylee Curran, who claims the singer pointed a gun at her and demanded she leave his home because she admired a piece of his friend’s jewelry.
Brown’s attorney, Mark Geragos, arrived at his home during the police standoff, at which point the singer’s entourage exited his home and lined up outside to be checked for weapons by police. After a full day of police investigation and Brown being questioned, the singer turned himself over to the police. Gossip Cop will update as we gather more information about Brown’s arrest. UPDATE: Brown was released on $250,000 bail.
