Chris Brown Punched Woman New Years Party

Chris Brown is accused of punching a woman at a New Year’s party in Las Vegas.

Brown went to Vegas for his heavily-hyped New Year’s Day concert at Drai’s Nightclub, where he has a residency, on Friday. After the show, the singer reportedly hosted a private party inside his suite at the Palms Casino Resort hotel that went into the Saturday morning hours. The unidentified victim claims she snuck her cell phone into the bash, and after she snapped a picture of Brown, he allegedly turned violent.

The woman alleges Brown yelled at her before punching her in her right eye. She left the party after the incident and contacted the police. Though she was not taken to the hospital, TMZ has obtained a photo of the alleged victim with what looks to be a bruised eye. The outlet reports Brown is now the target of a battery investigation, but Gossip Cop is hearing he had nothing to do with it.

This would not be the first time a cell phone at a party was claimed to have led to an issue with the star. As Gossip Cop reported, a woman accused Brown’s camp of assaulting her in September after she refused to surrender her phone upon entering his tour bus. The complainant, however, told cops in October that she no longer wanted to pursue charges. And with investigators unable to find evidence to warrant prosecution, the case is now considered inactive.

Then in November, one of Brown’s security guards was accused of assaulting a woman at a party, also in Las Vegas, after he believed she was trying to steal a phone when she went to pick up her own. In both those incidents, though, Brown himself was not personally suspected of any wrongdoing. Gossip Cop reached out to a rep for Brown on the new allegations, but did not immediately hear back.
