Chloe Grace Moretz is defending herself after being accused of slut-shaming for criticizing Kim Kardashian’s nude selfie.

As Gossip Cop reported, Kardashian posted a naked picture to Instagram early Monday. In the selfie, the reality star is seen standing nude in the bathroom. She used black bars, however, to cover her breasts and vagina.

And while this was hardly the first time Kardashian’s flaunted her body, the snapshot still caused a huge stir on social media, and led “Kim K” to trend on Twitter throughout Monday. It was a sight that Moretz, and some others, could have done without. On Monday evening, the actress retweeted Bette Midler’s shady tweet on the topic, and then tweeted her own two cents.

She wrote directly to Kardashian, “I truly hope you realize how important setting goals are for young women, teaching them we have so much more to offer than just our bodies.” While thousands retweeted or liked the message, others took issue with it.

That led Moretz to return to Twitter less than two hours later to defend her comment. “There’s a huge difference in respecting the platform that you’re given as a celebrity and ‘slut shaming’ something I never have done and would never do,” she argued.

Kardashian herself hasn’t responded, but did tweet around the same time, “Reading my comments like….LOL.” She went on to write, “I’m flattered some of u guys thought my post earlier was a recent pic! That was my blonde moment a year ago & 25lbs less! #MondayMotivation.”

Kardashian has been working on losing weight since giving birth to son Saint last December, and some mistakenly thought the nude selfie was her post-baby body reveal. Gossip Cop doubts that would have had any effect on Moretz’s opinion, though.
