Chevy Chase Uses N-Word During Rant on Community Set, According to Reports

Chevy Chase reportedly used the N-word during a rant on the “Community” set on Friday.

Multiple outlets are reporting that the actor-comedian used the racist slur during a tirade in which he complained about the direction of his bigoted character.

The outburst is being characterized as a moment of frustration with the racial content of the script rather than a deliberate or malicious verbal attack on any specific person.

Chase’s explosion is said to have been in the presence of African-American cast members Yvette Nicole Brown and Donald Glover, although that has not been confirmed.

He reportedly later apologized to cast and crew for the epithet.

There are conflicting reports as to whether the incident briefly interrupted production on the sitcom.

NBC has not commented on the situation.

    He needs to relax and get his $#it together. I don’t see where he gets off being such a “diva” & treating people the way he does. He should be happy he has a job when a lot of actors/actresses his age are ignored by Hollywood.

    Not sure what’s up with this guy. He seems to be struggling against that reality that he is no longer a young man, no longer the focus of attention and will no longer be getting the juicy leading man parts or the “A” Lister attention. Seems like a sit-down is in order to make him understand that it’s shape up or ship out. There are plenty of actors who would LOVE to have that job.
