Cher “Dying” And “Broke” Report FALSE
Cher is NOT “dying,” nor is she “broke and alone,” despite yet another gross tabloid cover story. Gossip Cop can once again correct the morbid report.
As Gossip Cop has reported, the National Enquirer has been claiming for more than a year that the music icon is dying (see cover photos below). In Wednesday’s latest installment, the supermarket tabloid declares, “Cher is flat broke, alone and near death!” A so-called “source” is quoted as saying, “Cher’s on her last legs — and she’s lost her vast fortune, which at one time had been pegged at a whopping $305 million.”
“She’s lost millions on bad investments, and she’s fighting back furiously — but it may be too little, too late,” claims the supposed snitch. “Her medical bills have mounted over the years, and I’ve heard her financial situation has gotten so bad she may not have enough to cover her own funeral! It’s really sad.” No, what’s sad is the disreputable magazine once again falsely claiming Cher is about to die. And to bolster its claims, the National Enquirer is taking a lawsuit the singing legend recently filed and twisting it to make it seem like she’s in financial ruins.
As if all that wasn’t sensational enough, the piece is further filled out with speculation about heart and kidney problems, and it’s even said she’s “‘haunted’ by the recent deaths of showbiz friends Natalie Cole, David Bowie, Glenn Frey and Prince.” The “source” dramatically adds, “Cher turned 70 on May 20 and it really freaked her out. She’s afraid she won’t make it to 71!”
Of course, last December, the publication said Cher “fears she won’t live to celebrate turning 70 next May.” Well, she did. And she’s still not close to death. As one of Gossip Cop’s rock-solid insiders says, this new story is just the “same crap on a different day.” Furthermore, we’re exclusively told by Cher’s own rep that there’s “not a word of truth” to the “dying” and broke” allegations.
