Cher NOT Writing “Deathbed Tell-All,” Despite Report (EXCLUSIVE)
Cher is NOT writing a “deathbed tell-all,” despite a morbid and entirely erroneous tabloid cover story. Gossip Cop can exclusively debunk the report. Cher is not on her deathbed, and she’s not writing a book, either.
The National Enquirer seems to have an obsession with Cher. Or at least with Cher dying. This week, the supermarket tabloid published its fourth cover in less than a year that wrongly claims the music icon is near death. This new edition declares, “As the desperate diva battles serious health woes, [an] explosive new memoir is set to reveal why she wanted to kill herself, her chances to bed Brando & Elvis, [and her] brief flirtation with lesbianism.”
The magazine deems these alleged details Cher’s “final confessions” and “dying secrets.” A so-called “publishing insider” is quoted as saying, “Cher’s announced she’s making a Broadway musical about her life, but what she hasn’t revealed is she’s also quietly working away on a tell-all.” The outlet’s source goes to claim that the “ailing” Cher “has been so freaked out” over her supposed health problems that she “wants to set the record straight before she dies.”
If only the National Enquirer would set the record straight. Cher wasn’t near death last April. She wasn’t in July. And she still wasn’t when the tabloid wrongly claimed it again in December. The gossip rag is just continuing its own false saga.
A rep for Cher exclusively tells Gossip Cop that this latest cover story is “pure fiction.” There is NO tell-all book in the works. For some of the National Enquirer covers that deserve to be dead and buried, check out the gallery below.
