Cher, Caitlyn Jenner Dating Claim NOT True
Cher is not trying to date Caitlyn Jenner, despite a report falsely claiming the music icon is pursuing the transgender star romantically. Gossip Cop can exclusively correct the story, which comes from one of the tabloids.
It’s alleged in this week’s edition of the National Enquirer, “Cher is hoping she and Caitlyn Jenner can rekindle an old connection — this time as lesbians!” Branding the two “Tinseltown’s new odd couple,” it’s said they were first “pals in the ’70s,” and allegedly “had a steamy fling” back then. A so-called “source” is quoted as saying, “There was a strong magnetism between them.”
Now, according to the magazine, the duo has “reconnected since Cait underwent gender reassignment surgery last year,” and “Cher would like to flash back to their romantic past.” The alleged tipster claims, “Cher definitely wants to date Caitlyn. They already have a strong bond and a romantic history together, so it wouldn’t be that unusual — except now they’re both women! [Cher would] love to get a second chance!”
Gossip Cop checked in with a rep for Cher, however, and the spokesperson laughed off the tale as untrue. The allegations that she and Jenner had a “fling” back in the day are fabricated, as well. But this isn’t the first time the publication has tried to link the two.
Back in June, there was a false story claiming Jenner bought some of Cher’s old concert clothes to wear herself. And another article wrongly alleged Jenner and Cher were a couple back in 2014. The National Enquirer clearly rather go back down the same sensational and inaccurate path than tell the truth.
