“So the MTV Video Music Awards will be on Sunday, September 12^th, and everyone knows that when you think of rap music and hip-hop, you think of ‘Chelsea Lately,’” said Chelsea Handler at the top of her E! show tonight, adding, “And that’s why I will be hosting them.”

Handler will bring her raw comedy to the stage next month as Lady Gaga, Drake, Katy Perry, and Eminem, among others, via for Moonmen awards.

Among the artists slated to perform at the L.A. show are Kanye West, B.o.B, and Justin Bieber.
