Chaz Bono Goes Rocky, Leaves Judges Impressed and Cher In Tears (VIDEO)

Chaz Bono drew inspiration from Rocky Balboa, Richard Simmons and his famous mom tonight, putting together what the judges considered his best performance with partner Lacey Schwimmer to date.

As Cher cheered from the audience, Bono and Schwimmer turned up the heat with their boxing training montage-themed Paso Doble.

Bono’s progress after a couple of lackluster weeks thrilled the judges, even making Carrie Ann Inaba shed a few tears.

“In the true spirit of Rocky, no matter how many knocks you take, you keep coming back, you keep fighting and you keep getting stronger,” said Bruno Tonioli.

After giving her son a standing ovation in the ballroom, Cher tweeted, “OMG! I WAS CRYING! I WASN’T EXPECTING 2 B SO NERVOUS! BROKE MY BRACELET CLAPPING! IM SO PROUD.”

    Im sorry, but I don’t see how this was a real dance. Maybe 1/4 if it was, the rest was punching & running up or down stairs. I think people were more. Pumped by the song than the actual “dancing”. He’s just not graceful enough ro pull this off. And looking at his scores, I’m not the only one wo thinks so.

    I agree with Miss Suzanne, What Dance? He performed a number that had a few dance steps in it. But he will still get voted to move on because of his back storey. That is both good and bad. Good because its a great feel good story and bad because he CAN NOT dance and he will take a spot from someone who can. Come on America, vote on the dancing not the person, the show is not called “What Star Do You Like Better” it’s about DANCING.
