Charlize Theron Slipping Into Catwoman Suit?

The Internet has been purring with reports that Charlize Theron has already been cast as Catwoman for the next installment of “Batman.”

The site, WhyFame, for example, wrote, “Charlize Theron is ready and thrilled to try the tight catsuit for her Catwoman role… The competition for this role wasn’t an easy one because it also included Megan Fox and Angelina Jolie. But [Theron] won the battle.”

Not so fast everyone. She has yet to be cast.

Gossip Cop contacted Theron’s publicist, who hadn’t heard any news of the Oscar winner being tapped for the part. We also spoke to the film’s studio, Warner Bros., where a spokeswoman there similarly couldn’t confirm the information. Next, we asked a staffer at Theron’s manager’s office, and were told that no one’s been cast yet for the role.

So how did this all start? Well, in a recent interview Theron was told that she was a candidate for the role, and she responded by saying that director Chris Nolan is a “genius,” and “I would be an idiot to not consider that part.”

Just a month ago Gossip Cop debunked the rumor that Megan Fox was cast as Catwoman. We’ll keep you apprised of who winds up clawing her way to the part.
