Dancing With the Stars Reveals Finalists — But Who Shockingly Didn’t Make the Cut?!
“Dancing with the Stars” revealed the finalists for season 18 on Monday, and the results were nothing short of shocking.
At the start of the semi-final show, five couples remained, but only four could make it on to part one of next week’s finale. So, which pairings made the cut, and which duo unbelievably had to hang up their dancing shoes?
Candace Cameron Bure & Mark Ballas were the first to be declared safe, followed by James Maslow & Peta Murgatroyd. That left the three Olympians, Meryl Davis & Maks Chmerkovskiy, Charlie White & Sharna Burgess, and Amy Purdy & Derek Hough, all in jeopardy, despite consistently being the top scorers all season.
Purdy was the next to make it to safety, leaving Olympics partners Davis and White awaiting their fate (even though they weren’t necessarily the Bottom Two). Host Tom Bergeron called the results “the biggest shock of the season, of many seasons,” but still, someone had to go.
Ultimately, White and Burgess were eliminated. For the record, White had the third highest-average of the season, behind Davis and Purdy, and ahead of Maslow, with Bure trailing far behind. But of course, viewers’ votes are always factored in as well.
Now the four final pairs will compete again next Monday, where one couple will be sent home before the remaining three face off once more in the big conclusion on Tuesday. What do you think of this season’s finalists, and who are you rooting for to win it all?
