Comedy Central to Roast Charlie Sheen

It had to happen.

Comedy Central will roast Charlie Sheen for a special set to air on Monday, September 19.

It will tape on Saturday, September 10 in Los Angeles.

“You could say I’ve been providing kindling for this roast for a while,” says the actor. “It’s time to light it up. It’s going to be epic.”

Network executive Kent Alterman said in a statement, “Charlie has assured us that nothing will be off limits in this roast… which scares even us.”

The network has roasted luminaries including Donald Trump, Joan Rivers, Pamela Anderson and William Shatner in recent years.

The Sheen roast will be televised on the same night Ashton Kutcher debuts as his replacement on the season premiere of “Two and a Half Men.”

Wonder how the Comedy Central roast will compare to the SNL Charlie Sheen skit a few weeks past. IMHO it was truly hilarious.

Roasts have become a giant snore. The jokes are on a template (Yo mama is so fat…) and ferPetesake, the “comedians” don’t even memorize them. They actually read them off sheets of paper. Probably elementary school lined paper because that’s the level of the caca poopoo humor.

I think the fact that Comedy Central is a cable channel, might limit the number of viewers as a lot of people have cut thier pkgs. way back, and don’t get this channel. On the other hand, everyone with a TV gets CBS and there will be a lot of curiosity about the new 2 1/2 men. I would like to watch the Roast but, not enough to upgrade my satilite cov..
