Charlie Sheen Wants Child Support Reduced For Twins With Brooke Mueller
As Gossip Cop has reported, Sheen and Mueller are parents to 6-year-old boys Max and Bob. The actor has been paying $55,000 a month in child support based on their divorce settlement. But in new legal documents filed on Wednesday, he argues he can no longer afford such an amount.
Sheen claims he was previously bringing in $613,000 each month, thanks in part to his stake in “Two and a Half Men.” But he says he was recently forced to sell his rights in exchange for a one-time payment of $26,750,000. With that monthly profit gone, the former sitcom star says his monthly income is down to around $167,000. It’s unclear from what additional sources Sheen has money coming in, or to where the bulk of his lump-sum payment went.
Sheen lists his expenses as $105,000 per a month, noting that $25,000 is for medical issues not covered by his health insurance. But that’s not all. He claims credit card debt of nearly $600,000, as well as legal fees of almost $1 million, plus outstanding tax bills and mortgage bills that all total to more than $12 million.
It’s not known to what affordable amount Sheen wants the child support payments reduced, but he is seeking to alter the divorce agreement stipulation that said he had to pay as much as he does for his two daughters with Denise Richards. A hearing is set for April 13. Gossip Cop reached out to a rep for Sheen but did not immediately hear back. Mueller’s rep had no comment.
The filing comes nearly four months after Sheen revealed he was HIV-positive, and more than a month after ex-wife Richards accused him of evicting her and their daughters and violating their financial trust agreement. She is seeking $1.2 million from him. Sheen has had a mostly contentious relationship with both women for years. He is pictured above with Mueller in 2009. Gossip Cop will have updates.
