Charli XCX Break The Rules

Charli XCX sang “Break The Rules” for her second performance on this week’s “SNL” (video below). She first performed “Boom Clap.” As Gossip Cop noted, this was Charli XCX’s debut as the musical guest on “SNL.”

In the video for “Break The Rules,” Charli XCX plays a bad girl who sings, “I don’t want to go to school, I just want to break the rules.” And when she’s not walking on top of a yellow school bus in the video, Charli XCX is causing trouble inside it with her posse of friends. Rose McGowan is also featured in the video as a mischievous chaperone at school dance.

It’s been a huge year for Charli XCX, who was recently nominated for two Grammys alongside Iggy Azalea with whom she wrote and performed the smash hit “Fancy.” The two were nominated for a Best Pop Duo/Group Performance Grammy, while “Fancy” received a nomination for Record Of The Year. Charli XCX and Azalea performed the song together just 24 hours earlier at iHeartRadio Jingle Ball at Madison Square Garden in New York. Charli also lit up the legendary arena with her performances of “Boom Clap” and “Break The Rules.”

In addition, not only does her new album “Sucker” come out later this month, but Charli XCX will open for Katy Perry when the latter’s Prismatic World Tour goes to Europe in 2015. Check out the video below of Charli XCX’ performance of “Break The Rules” on “SNL,” and tell us what you think.
