2:34 pm, April 29th, 2011
Channing Tatum hasn’t fully put his male stripper days behind him.
The Step Up actor is set to star in a new movie titled Magic Mike, based on his experience as a stripper when he was 19.
Tatum will play the lead character, who takes a fellow male stripper under his wing.
Steven Soderbergh, who had previously announced plans to retire, will direct the film.
Tatum said in a statement, “This was a wild and pivotal time in my life and I couldn’t be more thrilled to go down the rabbit hole with Steven.”
He and Soderbergh teamed up in the past for the action film Haywire, which hits theaters this August.
