Channing Tatum, Jenna Dewan NOT Having Emergency Baby To “Save Marriage”
Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan are not having a baby “to save their marriage,” despite a new tabloid report claiming the couple is on the brink of a $50 million split. Gossip Cop can exclusively bust the rumor, which began in OK!, a magazine that spread a false story about the couple being in trouble back in August 2013 and apparently hasn’t gotten better sources in the time since.
According to the outlet, the couple has “hit a crossroads in their marriage,” and need to take drastic measures to avoid a divorce. Tatum’s career is supposedly the problem. “Channing has too many balls in the air,” a so-called “insider” tells OK! “He’s got a crazy-hectic schedule, and it’s made him an absentee husband and dad.” The tab source says, “Channing knows this is make-or-break time for his marriage.”
OK! then claims Tatum has been “flirting” up a storm with his female co-stars, because if there’s one thing tabloids can’t fathom, it’s adult men and women working together professionally on a movie without there being an atmosphere of infidelity. OK! abandons the cheating angle almost immediately after introducing it, maybe because even the tab realizes there’s NOTHING to it. The interminable and illogical OK! story instead keeps saying how exhausted Tatum and Dewan are, but makes it seem as though adding another child to the mix will cure what allegedly ails their relationship.
A “source” for the outlet explains, “Channing realizes that burning the candle at both ends has been unhealthy, and he’s ready to make changes. He told Jenna that after this next wave of projects, he’s taking at least a six-month break… And Jenna made him promise that if there were another baby on the way, Chan would be a more committed family man.”
To recap: There’s no actual baby, no actual divorce, and no actual hiatus from acting for Tatum. All of these are things OK! says MIGHT happen in the future, somehow justifying a cover story that suggests Tatum and Dewan’s marriage is in crisis. It’s more bait-and-switch nonsense from an outlet that does a lot of it. A source close to the situation tells Gossip Cop, “Channing and Jenna are totally happy. This story is completely off base.”
