The Chainsmokers and Florida Georgia Line performed “Last Day Alive” on TV for the first time at Wednesday’s 2017 CMT Music Awards. Watch the video below!

The two duos recorded “Last Day Alive” for The Chainsmokers’ debut studio album. Called Memories… Do Not Open, the record was released in April with “Last Day Alive” as the 12th and final track. It hasn’t been announced if the song will be sent to radio as a single, but this marks the first time fans are getting to see the foursome perform it.

On the surface, The Chainsmokers and Florida Georgia Line might seem like unlikely or unexpected duet partners, but both acts have a history of inventive collaborations. The Chainsmokers broke out with songs featuring Rozes, Daya and Halsey, and the aforementioned album includes the single “Something Just Like This,” which features Chris Martin.

As for Florida Georgia Line, the country guys just teamed up with John Legend for a performance at the Billboard Music Awards a few weeks ago, and days later, they performed with Nelly on “GMA.” They also have collaborations with Luke Bryan and Tim McGraw under their belts. And in April, Florida Georgia Line brought the Backstreet Boys to the ACM Awards for a performance of their joint song, “God, Your Mama, And Me.”

While it might seem surprising to some, the country genre has embraced a lot of crossover music, and that’s particularly evident in the CMT series “Crossroads.” Duets for that popular show led to CMT Music Awards nominations tonight for Jason Derulo and Luke Bryan, as well as Alicia Keys with Maren Morris, and Nick Jonas and Thomas Rhett. Other atypical combos who scored nods this year include John Mellencamp and Darius Rucker, plus Kelsea Ballerini with Meghan Trainor and Jill Scott.

In addition, Florida Georgia Line’s “May We All” with McGraw earned a nomination for Collaborative Video of the Year. FLAGALine also went into tonight up for Duo of the Year and Video of the Year for “H.O.L.Y.” And no matter what, Tyler Hubbard will be walking away feeling like a winner as he just announced earlier in the day that wife Hayley is pregnant with their first child. Pretty awesome. Check out video of the “Last Day Alive” performance below!
