The artist XVALA is no longer planning to display the leaked nude photos of Jennifer Lawrence and Kate Upton in his upcoming art exhibit after the announcement of the show prompted tremendous backlash.

“It wasn’t just about being ‘hacked’ images anymore, but now presented in the media as stolen property,” the artist said. “People were identifying with Jennifer Lawrence’s and Kate Upton’s victimization, much more than I had anticipated, which is powerfully persuasive.”

After receiving a series of online petitions, XVALA decided to replace the life-size, unaltered celebrity images with his own self-shot nude photos for his upcoming “No Delete” exhibit at the Cory Allen Contemporary Art in St. Petersburg, Florida.

CACA publicist Cory Allen noted, “It was inspiring to see people take action through a petition, signing their name and not just commenting on a thread.”

What do you think of XVALA’s change of heart?
