Celebrity Feuds October 2016
Some big celebrity feuds went down in October! See a list below of just a few of the stars who got into fights with other famous people last month.
1. Russell Crowe vs. Azealia Banks: The rapper claimed on Facebook that the actor called her the N-word, choked her and spat on her during a fight at a dinner party in his hotel suite. Crowe, however, denied any wrongdoing and explained that Banks became belligerent, began insulting his guests and then threatened a woman with a piece of glass. Rapper RZA, who brought Banks to Crowe’s party, later corroborated his story. But Banks is still sticking by her account of events, and filed a battery report against Crowe following the altercation.
2. Demi Lovato vs. Taylor Swift: Lovato slammed the fellow singer in her Glamour cover story, accusing Swift of not supporting feminism or women’s empowerment. “To be honest, and this will probably get me in trouble, I don’t see anybody in any sort of squad that has a normal body,” Lovato said. “It’s kind of this false image of what people should look like. And what they should be like, and it’s not real.” Lovato then specifically referenced Swift’s music video for “Bad Blood,” expressing, “And I think that having a song and a video about tearing Katy Perry down, that’s not women’s empowerment.”
3. Kanye West vs. Jay Z: West went on a surprising rant against his longtime friend during a concert in Seattle. First, he called out Jay Z for not fully contributing to their planned collaboration with Drake, “Pop Style,” because Jay Z felt it would be disrespectful to Meek Mill, who is signed to Roc Nation and has beef with Drake. West also claimed royalty issues between Jay Z’s Tidal and Apple, with which Drake is affiliated, prevented the track’s release. And finally, West bashed his friend for not visiting him and Kim Kardashian to support her following her Paris robbery.
4. Kesha vs. Dr. Luke: The ongoing feud between the singer and her former music producer continued to heat up when Kesha accused him in an interview of preventing her from working on a new album and earning a living. Dr. Luke’s attorney released a statement shooting down this claim, insisting it was Kesha’s own decision not to provide her label with new music and she’s simply trying to “mislead the public, mischaracterize what has transpired over the last two years, and gain unwarranted sympathy.” Of course, their dueling lawsuits involving allegations of sexual abuse, defamation and breach of contract are still ongoing.
Bonus: Donald Trump vs. Hillary Clinton – The biggest celebrity feud in recent memory will reach its conclusion November 8 when the 2016 election finally wraps up and the American people choose the next president. Of course, there were two heated presidential debates this month alone in which both candidates hurled accusations and insults back and forth. But unlike most celebrity feuds, a clear winner in this battle will soon be determined.
