Celebrity Feuds November 2016
There were several fake celebrity feuds that went down in November! Last month, Gossip Cop busted a number of tabloids and websites for manufacturing false claims about stars fighting. See some of them below!
1. James Corden vs. Jimmy Fallon: The notoriously unreliable RadarOnline claimed the two talk show hosts are locked in a “bitter feud.” Without any evidence or specifics, the webloid implied Corden is gunning for Fallon’s spot on the “Tonight Show,” contending the Englishman has “every intention of knocking Fallon off his pedestal.” But it is all a big lie. Not only aren’t the stars feuding, but the claim about Corden possibly becoming the new host of the “Tonight Show” is ridiculous. A source close to Fallon exclusively assured Gossip Cop the story was “nonsense,” as did a Corden insider.
2. Anne Hathaway vs. Cate Blanchett: According to Star, the costars struggled to work together on the set of Ocean’s Eight. Blanchett found Hathaway “annoying and pretentious,” claimed the magazine, which alleged Hathaway tried to turn her part into the lead, with everyone else having supporting roles. What’s more, the tabloid’s supposed “source” said the pair exchanged “some angry words” on set, and didn’t speak to each other during the remainder of filming. Of course, Gossip Cop corrected the inaccurate article. We checked in with a rep for Hathaway, who exclusively told us the report was “fabricated.”
3. Selena Gomez vs. Taylor Swift: According to the repeatedly discredited OK!, Swift was “livid” after hearing that Justin Bieber tried to reach out to Gomez during her stint in rehab. The publication’s supposed source alleged that led to a fight between the women, resulting in Gomez deciding to write a tell-all memoir about Swift, in which she would reveal her “darkest secrets.” But Gossip Cop investigated, and not surprisingly the tabloid didn’t bother to do any fact checking. A source close to Gomez exclusively assured us the claim was completely “false.”
4. Brad Pitt vs. George Clooney: In early November, a few weeks after Angelina Jolie filed for divorce, Star claimed Pitt and Clooney had ended their supposed feud. But there never was a feud in the first place between the two Hollywood heavyweights. According to the tabloid and its questionable sources, Jolie never liked Clooney, and drove a wedge between the actors. Not surprisingly, the often disproven publication got it wrong. The reality is Jolie and Pitt were together for more than a decade, and throughout that time, he and Clooney very much remained friends.
