Biggest Celebrity Feuds Of April 2016
Some big celebrity feuds went down in April! See a list below of just a few of the stars who got into fights with other famous people last month.
1. Kelly Ripa vs. Michael Strahan: The most high-profile celebrity feud of the month surrounded the tension behind-the-scenes at “Live with Kelly and Michael.” As Gossip Cop reported, Ripa became angry and upset after being blindsided with the news that co-host Strahan was leaving the show to join “Good Morning America.” She took a week off work to assess the situation, during which time she and Strahan didn’t speak. But when Ripa returned to the show a week after the drama began, the two seemed to be on good terms. She congratulated Strahan on his new gig, and he dubbed her the “queen of morning television.”
But in the week since Ripa has returned to the show, there have been a number of awkward on-air interactions between her and Strahan. During a segment with animals, Ripa made a joke about wanting contract negotiations help from a reptile that “wards off predators,” resulting in an uncomfortable Strahan to quickly change the subject. And the very next day, Ripa may have passive-aggressively jabbed Strahan by bringing up his past divorce. The former NFL player made a face of discomfort into the camera following her remark.
2. Sarah Palin vs. Azealia Banks: The former governor of Alaska and the rapper began a war of words after Banks slammed Palin over a satirical article that jokingly quoted Palin as saying black people willingly accepted slavery. Unaware that the story was fake, Banks shot off a series of offensive tweets directed at Palin, including one that seemingly suggested she should be gang-raped by a group of black men. After Palin threatened to sue Banks over her verbal attack, the rapper posted a semi-apology on her Tumblr account, admitting she made a mistake in thinking the article was real, and didn’t intend to make a joke about rape. However, the rapper then circled back again by going on to diss Bristol Palin for having children out of wedlock and further attacked the one-time vice presidential candidate.
3. Future vs. Ciara: In February, Ciara sued her ex-fiance for defamation after he suggested in an interview she was an unfit mother to their 2-year-old son. But last month, Future filed a countersuit, demanding that her $15 million slander and libel lawsuit be thrown out and that she also pay his legal fees. The rapper alleged in his suit that Ciara uses their son for publicity by supposedly parading him in front of the cameras while she’s out with her fiance Russell Wilson.
Honorable Mentions: There were also a few one-sided feuds in April that had celebrities slamming others, without getting a response. Both Salma Hayek and Chelsea Handler went after Donald Trump, and Susan Sarandon didn’t mince words with her disapproval of Hillary Clinton. Meanwhile, both Calvin Klein and Rebecca Romijn insinuated that Kendall Jenner was more of a social media personality than a legitimate supermodel.
