Two Competitors Fired on Shocking, Twist-Filled Celebrity Apprentice

Truth rating: 10

RECAP

(NBC)

Donald Trump shook things up on “The Celebrity Apprentice” on Sunday by firing multiple contestants.

But before the boardroom showdown, Team Unanimous‘ three competitors and Team Forte‘s two had to create a print ad campaign, to run in Elle, promoting a new Chi touch-screen hairdryer.

Lisa Lampanelli volunteered to be project manager on behalf of Clay Aiken and herself, while Teresa Giudice said she’d oversee Arsenio Hall and Aubrey O’Day.

With Dayana Mendoza gone, Lampanelli quickly made Giudice her new target, as the two testily negotiated over which models each team would get to use in their advertisements.

Giudice ended up stumbling a little bit in her presentation, and the team was criticized for not promoting some of the dryer’s “revolutionary” aspects in the ads.

Lampanelli and Aiken, meanwhile, successfully got the brand’s message across, and won the challenge.

O’Day blamed her team’s loss partially on Giudice’s negotiating failures, while Giudice accused Hall of “playing it safe” throughout the task.

The finger-pointing continued until Trump announced that he was firing Giudice since, as project manager, she was most responsible for losing.

But in a surprising twist, the mogul asked all four remaining competitors to return the boardroom.

Each contestant had to meet with last season’s winner John Rich and runner-up Marlee Matlin to make the case for why they deserved to be the next “Celebrity Apprentice.”

Based in part on Rich and Matlin’s recommendations, Trump vowed to fire two more.

So, who got the boot?

Lampanelli was shockingly let go for her at times “uncontrollable emotions,” while the other eliminated contestant will be revealed at the start of the next episode.

What do you think of tonight’s double elimination, and who do you want to see go head-to-head in the finale?

Lisa was an incredible bitch throughout the entire show. And though Dayana’s an airhead, she was exceptionally mean. I clapped when Lisa was fired. I always thought her act onstage was just that: an act. I now know that in “real life” she’s an exceedingly mean person and she just lost a fan.

  • LL was jipped

If Lisa was let go for her emotions that Arsenio should as well. I think Lisa, though volatile, should have stayed before both, Clay and Arsenio. She got the job done! And I am sick of “Dead-weights” being carried through in work and life. Lisa told it how it was and quite honestly it was refreshing.

  • tessa

Ditto with Cory…..Lisa L is a horrible bitch and I will never watch anything with that hideous troll on it. There were episodes of C A that I changed the channel on because I couldnt stand seeing or hearing that shrew one more second.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_XRFXDPRS5L65V5YGFTJIMTYKZI brittany s

WOW it is a show and that is her persona. The show is not about how nice/mean you are, it is about getting a job done and fighting for charity. Lisa and Aubrey are by far the top contenders and I think that Lisa should definitely not have been fired. I am hoping that it ends up being Clay vs. Aubrey because the are both better players than Arsenio and he called Aubrey some horrible names (if you want to talk about emotions and being mean).

  • Guest

I am very surprised lisa was fired but happy that trump let her go. She was a bitch and a big bully. Btw, Dyanna was not an airhead – Lisa was after her from day one and would not let up. I don’t really care for the three that’s left especially Aubry but I think she will move on to the final two. Aesenio, was vulgar, disrespectful and completely out of line when he went after Aubrey a few weeks back. I agree, if Lisa went home because she let her emotion get the best of her, then arsenio should go too.

  • Anette

Every week Lisa was praised by her teammates, except for Dayana who was terrible. To fire Lisa purely for being emotional is wrong because if that is the case you also would have to fire Arsenio and Aubrey because Aubrey cried in more than one boardroom scene this season. I think Lisa was the strongest player by far and deserved to be in the finale. Aubrey was a liar, full of herself and never a team player. I do like Clay and Arsenio and feel of the two Clay was stronger. But Lisa being fired wrecked it for me.

  • Guest

I don’t understand the comments made that Dyanna was terrible, an airhead, etc. she was smart and quite capable. Lisa was a strong player but she was also extremely mean and very much a bully. That was the problem I had with her, how she bullied a lot of the others, not only Dyanna. You can be a strong, tough, no nonsense player without the meaness and the bullying. Lisa was also vulgar and disrespectful herself. Arsenio was awful in the things he said about aubrey. It might come down to clay nd aubrey.

  • Anonymous

I was imagining a scenario that I knew would never happen: I was hoping it would come down to Lisa and Aubrey. It would have been interesting to see these women who claimed to be such good “friends” claw each other apart. I *was* surprised Lisa got fired – I’m personally glad ‘cuz I can’t stand her viciousness. But, having said that, I thought she was going to win the whole enchilada. I can’t figure out why Trump fired her – she certainly was good for ratings up to this point. Maybe it’s going to be Clay vs Aubrey – nice guy versus bi-atch.

Who do you want to see go head-to-head in the finale?

  • Disgusted with L.L.

When Lisa got fired it was one of the best T.V. moments I have seen in years! She thought she was more intelligent, cunning and talanted than anyone else. She was the most vulgar, biggoted, hypocrital, jealous, vicious, ignorant loud mouth I have seen on t.v. in years. She made the meanest woman on any of those other really shows look like an angel. She was so jealous of that poor gorgeous Dayanna that she couldn’t stop spewing venom at her. I think as far as Lisa L is concerned her career is all down hill from now on. Also, isn’t “bullying” becoming against the law these days? If so, shouldn’t Lisa be put in jail for committing “hate” crimes IN FRONT OF MILLIONS OF VIEWERS!!

  • Disgusted with L.L.

I was actually hoping it was Aubrey with L.L. too. But, actually, Lisa getting fired the way she did was so delightful that I think it was even better than seeing her lose to Aubrey. :)

  • Janice

If Lisa was fired for showing her emotions than so should Arsenio along with Aubrey..who said tonite that you should never show your emotions in a business situation..this coming from someone who cried crock tears and left the show and for some reason was given a free pass back. Come on Trump you are showing your true emotions or should I say lust emotions. If she comes back, I promise I will not watch the finale. I already think Clay is the winner at of the 4 Celebrities left. I think you really missed the boat with this show!

  • Anonymous

Lisa’s actions on CA might have made “good TV”, in the sense that people love to see the biggest jerk finally get his/her comeuppance, and tonights episode fit that bill. Lisa proved herself to be a horrible horrible human being. She didn’t deserve to be one of the finalists and I’m glad she got fired. Don’t these contestants realize that the ultimate winner of CA will have Donald Trump’s name attached to it and that a venomous loud mouth vulgar spewing bi-ach would not reflect well on Trump? Or maybe Lisa L thought her performance would be a good career move because people have such poor taste.

I think Arsenio is the next one to go.
If Clay wins it will mean nice guys really can come in first.
If Aubrey wins the generation of “me-me-me, it’s all about me” rules the day, and the future is very bleek.

  • saydie

Trump kept Dayana around for her looks..everyone knows that. She added nothing to the show..and he will bring her back to torment us some more for the last task so he can lust after her some more. Lisa has genuine intelligence, but lacks professionalism as well as Arsenio. Clay and Aubrey are the obvious choices for the final task. Either one would be great apprentices if they were going forward as “apprentices”. Aubrey needs fine tuning because she is sooo brilliant, but needs serious schooling in teamwork, but she is genius material, and Clay is smart and easygoing. I’m a retired recruiter and I would hire either one of them in a heartbeat…and, they could name their salary.

  • Cory in Amarillo

I’m praying to GOD it’s Clay and Arsenio. Not only was Aubrey one of the most arrogant people I’ve ever seen on television, but her answer to (not sure if Marlee or John asked her the question) about why she picked the charity she did was horrible! Though I consider her charity to be a very worthwhile charity, to hear she basically picked it out of a hat and that it was a strategic move to make HER look good rather than having passion for the charity, unlike most of the other contestants, it added even more to her fakeness. And when she told Farouk Shami that her hair color was natural I laughed out loud! Her hair is indicative of her entire persona: fake. So, please god/God/gods, let it be Arsenio and Clay, two men who obviously have great passion for their charities and integrity, and not one of them up against this body double for Arial from The Little Mermaid.

  • markc2

Actually she was on the losing team 9 times the most of everyone. She did manage to win twice in the time that she was there. Wikipedia has a good chart of how they all stacked up. Clay and Arsenio has two wins and no loses. and only on the loosing team if I read the chart right 4 times.

  • Markc

my oops, Clay had one wine one loss.

  • Guest

Clay is smart but he’s not such a nice guy as everyone thinks.

Again the digs at Dyanna. I don’t know if trump kept her around because she’s beautiful, but from what I saw she was smart – she definitely was not dumb. Lisa made her to be and wanted the viewers to believe that too. Aubrey did too when they all were on the women’s team.

  • Merriganlee

I would like to see Clay and Arsenio go head-to-head. I do hope to see a woman win this one day, but Lisa and Aubrey are an insult to the gender. Lisa is a bully. Donald would be sending a bad message by rewarding her for that. Props to John and Marlee for figuring that out. Aubrey has an ego that can rival Christina Aguilera’s (watch how she acts on “The Voice” if you don’t get the reference). The only difference is that Christina has the actual talent and looks to back it up and is therefore entitled to have some pride. I’m a woman and I found her so disgusting that I actually had no sympathy for her when Arsenio said those things. A horrible person deserves to be called on it regardless of their gender! I hope Aubrey is the next one fired. If that doesn’t happen, ít would still make me happy to see Clay/Arsenio kick her keester in the finals!

  • Guest

Both Lisa and Aubrey were bullies on CA. I didn’t like either one. At the same time I ddn’t agree with the vulgar things arsenio said to her. Trust me, Aubrey needed to be called out but you can do that without the filthy words. He got way too emotional and went too far.

I didn’t have a favorite when it started but I came to like and admire Dyanna. She took a lot of abuse from both Aubrey and lisa and continued on when the women team split up and she ended up on the same team with that bully Lisa. Dyanna stayed classy, got her point across and didn’t loose her cool even when lisa was verbally attacking her.

Anyway can someone tell me what Aubrey’s claim to fame is? I never heard or seen her before CA.

  • Karen

shocking? twist filled? this show is boring and the only reason anyone ever watched was to see Lisa get fired, Clay should win, Aubrey should be dated by Trump once and dumped, and that’s about it

  • johndoe

If Aubrey was a man. she wouldve been praised all up and down daily. people forget both Arsenio and Clay had used bullying tactics as well. so i dont understand why people act like their saints other than patriarchy.off of work ethic alone she would have been the winner.

  • Guest

Johndoe- I am not one of those people that think that clay and arsenio is great and didn’t do anything. As much as I don’t like Aubrey, I just as much did not like or agree with arsenio going after her in such a vulgar way. Clay was fine until I saw another side of him- when he he sided with Lisa the bully and went after Dyanna.

I think some of the better players were sent home already.

  • Persianpickle

Ok,Aubrey,we know this is you, tooting your own untalented ass -again!

  • Persianpickle

How surprising,no ones even mentioned Guidice? Guess shes not the big deal “star” she and BRAVO believe her to be.I don’t watch Apprentice, just look to see who was fired.I can’t stomach the Donald.

  • Guest

I don’t like trump either but figure he only comes on at the end. Really, I try not to listen to him. As for Teresa, I had seen a couple of episodes in the first season of new jersey housewives and decided I cannot watch it. She really seem tame on CA.

  • DaisyHurts

Arsenio only lost it once, and then only because Aubrey had spent an entire day provoking him. Lisa, on the other hand, lost her temper nearly every single episode, whether anybody did anything to provoke her or not. And as for getting the job done, have you forgotten the mop commercial script she wrote based on a tag-line stolen from a Dr. Scholl’s orthotics ad, and that included no mopping or even mention of the word mop?

  • Marcus

lol. i never met a retired recruiter who used the word “sooooo”. Nice try :)

  • Merriganlee

This is not a case of sexism despite what Aubrey fans are trying to claim. Marlee is also a woman and a very strong one at that. She was quite well liked by the viewers. She raised a lot of money, showed tremendous passion for her charity and was very firm and upfront. She too didn’t lay low when she felt negatively towards a teammate. She called out Dionne for being lazy. She had no hesitation bringing up how LaToya could be a bit spacy. She never picked on somebody who didn’t deserve it or make pathetic comments about their age, career, etc.
Clay and Arsenio each had one noticable incident. That just proves they’re human, not bullies. Aubrey had several incidents. That’s the difference.
Many people do respect actual strong women. Marlee is a positive example of a strong woman. Aubrey is a negative example.

  • Marcus

No. Ugly behavior in a man or woman is the same thing. I think that’s just a big excuse to avoid calling her out on her childish unprofessionalism

  • People have weird perceptions

Retard Lou was the PM for the Mop episode. He was falling on the ground and saying “I’m in twubble”. He should have been responsible for what he was saying in the ad as an actor and a PM.

  • Cory In Amarillo

Yes, but both Aubrey and Lisa, both constantly bragging at their creative abilities, were behind many of the tasks, as was stated. But as Dayana pointed out once, Miss and Miss “Control” and “Creative” O’Day and Lampanelli KEPT LOSING! That’s what cracked me up. And in Sunday’s episode Aubrey said something so funny: something along the lines of “I did this I did that, I created everything, so if we lose Teresa should be fired.” Anyone else see the fractured logic there? If you’re creatively behind the campaign and the concept, and you lose, it’s someone else’s fault? I mean that’s the reason Penn got fired for the cologne ad: for a slogan the execs didn’t like.

  • Cory in Amarillo

Let me rephrase then, with an apology to Dayana: she wasn’t airhead… all the time. On the episode she was fired, she most certainly was, and actually I found myself, for ONE TIME ONLY, siding with Lisa. As much as I hated Lisa, I was on Lisa’s side during that episode because Dayana was being ridiculous and exhausting and passive-aggressive. Though, overall, if I had a choice of bosses between Dayana and Lisa, I’d not even consider Lisa twice. If Lisa were my boss I’d quit after two hours if I was treated the way Lisa treated and gunned for Dayana. It seems she always needs a target. First it was Debbie, then it was Victoria, then it was Dayana RELENTLESSLY, and then, Teresa. I would hate to know Lisa in real life.

  • Marnie

I wrote in a previous post that I “amended” my first comment about Dayana being an airhead, I just meant she was in the final task, but you’re right about the constant digs. Every time Lisa or Aubrey made an unfair comment about someone (and it wasn’t just Dayana, it was CONSTANT relentless put downs of other players, but Dayana got it the worst) I would just think “Uh, Lisa, you’re not making America hate Dayana, you’re making America hate YOU and wonder if you have jealousy issues.” And the comment Lisa made early on about all Italians being part of the mob really offended me, and I’m not even Italian! Ironically, she’s Italian herself. If I was on the show I’d probably use the very words Lou Ferigno said in the board room, and Lisa seems to only just to like people who kiss her ass the way her “cohorts” all did, including, God love him, Clay, just like Aubrey. And the “friendship” between Aubrey and Lisa is so fake its unreal, and the only thing going for Lisa is that I think she’s at least not someone who has Narcissistic Personality Disorder which Aubrey obviously has.

  • Robin

Agree that Lisa and Aubrey are both bullies. One of the things that cracked me up was when Aubrey said something to Teresa along the lines of “I taught you everything I know” when Teresa, now, is independently wealthy. And before this season began, I knew who every single one of those people were, EXCEPT, Aubrey O’Day. When the opening credits started of the first episode she was the only person I said “Who the hell is that?” about and had to look her up on Google.

  • Cory in Amarillo

I don’t buy that. And what work ethic when your creative skills keep losing you tasks? Aubrey and Lisa are both bullies, regardless of gender. This is NOT a gender issue. As far as work ethic, Teresa had a LOT more than Aubrey and Lisa combined and was willing to do anything, even if she knew nothing about it. She would find out what to do, and do it without question. If you’re going to use, again, work ethic and “getting things done” as a model, then the top two should be Paul and Dee who brought in over a half million dollars combined.

  • Cory in Amarillo

rofl to you and Robin. I had NO CLUE as to who Aubrey was until this show. Apparently she’s a singer? But according to Aubrey she’s more talented than Debbie Gibson. Funny since most the English speaking world born before 1980 knows the choruses to Debbie’s most famous songs and hasn’t a clue to who Aubrey is.

  • Stefanie

I heard of Teresa before the show and only saw clips of her reality show, but on apprentice I really grew to like her and was rooting for her and proud she got at least to 5th place.

  • Stefanie

If you remember correctly before using offensive language, Lou WON that challenge. Just for future reference, those of us with special needs children find your first word of your post just as offensive as the N word.
