Celebrity Apprentice All-Stars Recap: Double Elimination + Finalists Revealed!
“Celebrity Apprentice: All-Stars” began its two-part finale on Sunday, firing two contestants just minutes into the episode — and revealing the two finalists.
After bringing the four remaining competitors back into the boardroom and asking each why they should be in the finals, Donald Trump gave the boot to one member from each team. Forced to hear “You’re Fired” were Lisa Rinna and Lil Jon.
That left Penn Jillette and Trace Adkins to go head-to-head in the final challenge. In the task, each had to create a new flavor of Walgreens Delish ice cream, design the packaging, and produce a promotional video. The two would also have to sell tickets (read: raise money) for a VIP launch party.
Fired contestants Rinna, Dennis Rodman, and LaToya Jackson were assigned to work with Jillette, while Adkins was joined by Marilu Henner, Gary Busey, and Jon. Jillette quickly decided to have an “ice cream social Vegas-style,” with his “Vanilla Chocolate Magic Swirtle” flavor, and made calls to hook celebrity donations and appearances. He also enlisted longtime partner Teller and a group of showgirls for his commercial.
Adkins and his colleagues went with “Maple Macadamia Mashup,” to be promoted with a dance featuring Busey that he hoped would make their video go viral. The shoot went surprisingly well, despite the loose-cannon personality Busey showed in earlier challenges. Jillette’s filming went smoothly as well, and he even let Rodman leave early — only to later realize that their video was too long and would be difficult to cut. Adkins, meanwhile, changed his focus to wrangling celebrity donations, realizing that he’d be going up against Jillette’s extensive Rolodex, and that he needed to at least match what the illusionist raises.
Next week, viewers will get to see how the rest of the task played out, and during the live portion of the finale, all of the eliminated contestants will return as Jillette and Adkins battle it out to hear “You’re hired!” What do you think of tonight’s double firing, and are you rooting for Jillette or Adkins?
