Stars are celebrating World Water Day on Tuesday, and Gossip Cop has rounded up what the celebrities are saying. World Water Day is about drawing attention to the dire need for access to clean and safe water around the world. See celebrity messages and #W4Water photos below.
Many of the stars joining the movement showed their support by forming a “W” with their hands. Adele got the audience at one of her concerts to join in. “Show your support for @drop4drop ‘s mission to get clean water for all. W is for…WATER!” the singer noted alongside her photo. One Direction’s Niall Horan also flashed a “W,” tweeting, “W is for ..WE CAN DO THIS. Take your #W4Water photo & support the 663 million living without clean water.”
Lady Gaga showed her support for clean water for all, as well. She wrote, “Conserve nature’s resources so we can all live our best lives. W is for WE CAN HELP.” the singer tweeted. Cara Delevingne posted on Instagram, “663 million people in the world do not have access to safe water and that HAS to change.” And “Late Late Show” host James Corden also displayed his “W” in a tweet, while reminding his followers about the millions who are forced to live without clean water.
Alicia Keys urged her followers, “Water = life. Let’s get clean water to those that need it most… kids.” Meanwhile, Pitbull simply wrote, “Today is #WorldWaterDay help kids get clean #WaterNow.” Hillary Clinton also celebrated the important day, tweeting, “Every family deserves access to clean, safe water—no matter where they live. #WorldWaterDay.”
