Tim Duncan announced on Monday that he will retire from the San Antonio Spurs after 19 seasons with the team. Celebrities are now reacting to the NBA player’s exit from the game. See stars’ reactions below!
Duncan was selected by the Spurs as the first overall pick in the 1997 NBA Draft, and has since helped the team reach the playoffs in each of his 19 seasons, as well as win five championships. Fellow basketball superstar Kobe Bryant, who announced his own retirement from the Los Angeles Lakers in November, tweeted, “Congrats TD #19yrs #GoSpursGo.” Stephen Amell cracked, “I’ll never forget Tim Duncan shooting 50 times in his last game,” while NFL player J.J. Watt said, “Congratulations Tim Duncan. Absolute Legend.”
Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban expressed, “Upset at Tim Duncan we didn’t get to honor him at a Mavs Spurs game. Happy I’ve had the opportunity to witness his greatness so often.” Donald Faison wrote, “Tim Duncan: Best PF ever.
