Color me absolutely shocked that the radically liberal 9th circuit overturned it. They are beyond out of control.

equality for all is needed for this country to continue. you are ignorant and it’s quite sad actually. we have a seperation of church and state for a reason and just because some people can’t understand that lifestyle doesn’t mean you should be hateful towards them

  • Emily

Couldn’t not agree with u more. This is out of control. God created marriage between a MAN and WOMAN, not man and man, woman and woman. Innocent babies are being killed for no reason and now freaks can get married whenever they want *smh* Thanks SO much Obama. *HEAVY SARCASM*

  • Jena

If the fetus you saved by being pro-life turned out to be gay, would you still support its’ rights?

  • I_forgot

Yay one step closer to Christianity being outlawed!!!!

  • Centrist79

Wedding Planners just doubled their business. Now that is capitalism at work.

  • Aeryn

pretty sure that’s not going to happen. As the atheists have insisted, there is FREEDOM OF RELIGION in the USA. So you’re free to choose. That isn’t going to change.

One thing you should know, not all Christians are anti-gay just like not all gays are anti-Christian.

However, it’ll be a beautiful day when obnoxious people like you are outlawed.

  • Lela Kuiper

i can’t believe there is still such ignorance in the world – african americans won their battle, womn won theirs too – its the gays turn to get equal rights :) – congrats, california! next stop, washington state!

  • Anonymous

    just got burned by @Jena!

Ugh I’m pretty sure Christianity is a religion not a law. Are you even a Christian, yes it’s true that there are some Christians who doesn’t approve of same sex marriage, but I’m pretty sure there are Christians out there in the world who doesn’t mind same sex marriage.

  • Anonymous

Just like how women won suffrage rights and how african americans won theirs, I honestly think it’s the gays turn to battle everyone against them and prove everyone wrong and maybe hopefully get their equality.

  • Marcie90405

Amazing that all the so called “Christians” have such UNCHRISTIAN thoughts and things to say! Im proud to be an American where we ALL have the RIGHT TO PRACTICE our religious beliefs but please respect the rights of others who wish to be recognized as a married couple legally, and stop pushing your beliefs upon them. They arent hurting you or your family, Stay out of their business and they will stay out of yours! This country has separation of church and government for a reason, and Prop 8 was unconstitutional, and downright disgraceful.

  • Jena

Don’t group all those who believe in Christ into one group. Doing so is a logical fallacy in which you judge a whole by a small amount and exclude the possibility that not all are the same. I am a Catholic and have been since I was born. I was raised Catholic, not bigoted and hypocritical. I am pro-choice and pro-equality for all, especially for the LGBTQ community. And I sure as hell dislike being grouped in with some of the ignorant individuals who are commenting on this.

  • higglty pigglty

Perhaps you missed this or maybe your comment was a reference to the fact that the Washington State House has not yet passed the bill into law…..http://www.nytimes.com/2012/02/02/us/washington-state-senate-passes-gay-marriage-bill.html…..This should clarify where the issue stands in Washington State…

  • akaScooby

God didn’t create marriage, man created marriage, it was created as a way of forming treaties between various kingdoms/lordships hence why marriage exists in non-Christian cultures as well.
I understand that having only read one book you may have trouble grasping that the world historically and culturally exists far and beyond the narrow constraints of a Judeo-Christian society.

  • I_forgot

Just so you know… I am a Christian. And I have read my bible…

The bible says that the world governments will turn against religion (beginning with those professing to be of Christ) and then comes swift judgement for the world.

It’s far more detailed than that but I wouldn’t expect an atheist to understand or care.

The more times things like this happen, things were religion is frequently called
Into question because of its stance on a matter the closer the governments get to turning against it all.

And you can believe what you want about the wonderful USA.. Remember this comment when it happens.

  • I_forgot

My comment had to do with the way the world is gong… Not gay people

  • I_forgot

And having not read that particular book we can understand that you would overlook the fact that if all life originated from one couple who were close to god (in the beginning) then naturally when their spawn moved away to do whatever they wanted, formed new religions and cultures for example that marriage would of course crop up in all of the other places too.

There is commonality in all religions my dear.

  • akaScooby

Actually human life evolved from a primate species several thousand years before the Judeo-Christian creation myth.

And I have read your book and the books of many other religions, that’s the difference between seeking knowledge and blindly believing what you’re told.
If you wish to be truly informed read everything, study the history and question the motivations.

But then again you are clearly one of the fundamentalist types who actually believe the bible is a literal recording of events and not the mixed-bag of folk-tales and metaphors it truly is.
Which is incredibly sad as it leads to people missing the true messages that most religions try to teach – that is to say one should live a good life, love your fellow human being and pity those with hate in their hearts.

  • akaScooby

Most Christians are just as lovely as any other people and just like any other group you have some real nut-jobs making a bad name for you.

My philosophy in life is judge people on their own actions not on their race/religion/sex/orientation/politics/etc. We are individuals not easily defined therefore we shouldn’t be easily judged.

  • I_forgot

Lol don’t try and put me into a category. I have read lots and lots not just about my own religion but others and also the Theory of evolution.

And it’s amazing how a grab bag of folk tales written by many different men still manages to have the same message throughout.

  • Sam

You need serious help if that is the way your brain thinks and works. Sad for you.

  • Kaitlyn

Excellent point. And yes, I would.
I am a Catholic (pray and attend church regularly) and I support righta for both the unborn, and the gay. The church has a lot right, but remember they teach mans interpretation of the bible. The way it reads, is acceptance, and respect for life.
The bible isn’t anti gay, just anti gay sex. And marriage is about love, not sex…. although you shouldn’t do it before marriage that isn’t the purpose of the marriage.

Peace love and equality for all

Is Obama also ignorant? He holds the same position.

  • Anonymous

I love all of the outrage of liberals at those who oppose gay marriage. You do realize that Obama and majority of the African American and Hispanic communites are against it too, right? Why are they never attacked as bigots?

  • Krissie

I’m one of the Christians who is for same sex marriage. As long as both partners are consenting adults, then they should be able to marry whom they want.

  • Tobieb

You are so right!! How can they look themselves in the mirror knowing that their ppl had to fight for equal rights….and then turn around and try to take it away from another group of ppl. What else is that called…..hypocrites!!! SHAME SHAME

this is an article about gay people. so what if you’re writing about how world is messed up, Christianity is not a law AND don’t say that all Christian’s are “bad” (that’s technically what you meant), cause there are actual Christian’s who wants nothing but the better for the world.

  • Emily

    Yes, I would.

  • Emily

Babies are not born gay. You see, God gave us freedom to believe what we want. When we get to a certain age, we can choose to believe in Him or not; we can choose if we are straight or not. So babies are not born gay, when they get older they can choose if they are gay or not.

  • Jena

Wrong, wrong, wrong. Children know if they like the same sex or the opposite sex early on, typically. Especially as hormones start coming out in puberty. I doubt, sincerely doubt, that you woke up one morning at the age of 12 or 13 and said, “Hmmm. Do I want to subject myself to years of judgment and derision from others or do I want to take the easy way out and be attracted to people of the opposite sex.” Seriously, you just sound uneducated. Also, you sound like a bigot.

It’s not like homosexuals are going around committing heinous crimes like murder or rape or torture. No, they just want the equality of being able to love and marry whomever they choose. (And before you start saying anything about the heinous crimes – heterosexual males make up the largest majority of people who commit violent crimes.)

And as a Catholic girl, I’m telling you to grow up and get out of their bedrooms. The Bible was completed somewhere around 2,000 years ago. Perhaps God has been trying to speak through prophets for years and imbeciles like you are telling them, “Shut up. You’re going to burn in Hell for being a false prophet.” Seriously, go crawl in a corner.

Hello are you blind? I said that I was a Christian. I know not all Christians are bad. But obviously you failed to read your bible. Because it does predict that the world governments will turn against religion and abolish it.(the definition of outlaw is to prohibit, ban etc). Drugs are not a law and yet they are outlawed….

And there are those who profess to be Christians who really arent by definition. Christians are believers and followers of Christ… Christ came to die for our sins yes but he also went out into the world to teach people about his father and what you had to do in order for his sacrifice to save you. He told us what was going to happen in the future, he told us the signs to look for and he told us to do the same work that he was doing, to go out and preach to others… If they didn’t want to hear, fine…. God gave them the right to choose but he also told those people not to cry foul when the time came for judgement.

Just because a person decides to smoke their entire life despite all the warnings doesn’t give them the right to say “oh I didn’t know!” when they are lying there dying of lung cancer.

Jesus said warn the people. If they choose to ignore it then let them suffer the consequences. But dot sit on your butt and fail to warn them because you will be accountable for bloodshed.(paraphrasing obviously)

I simply am warning people. The world is getting worse and worse “what is bad will be good and what is good, bad” Isaiah 5:20

Say what you want the bible says homosexuality is wrong but this whole article and all those who are fighting for gay rights say that it

  • I_forgot

    Say that it is right.

I have said all I came to say. No one on this board at least can say they weren’t told. (and no I dont just troll boards to warn people, I preach gods word from door to door just like Jesus did and told us all to do)

  • Mercy Manson

YES! Duh. You didn’t already know that?

  • Mercy Manson

Love is love. Grow up The End

  • Emily

Ok I’ll admit that I was wrong about that. What I should’ve said was that once babies are born they don’t automatically know they are gay. It’s when they get to a certain age they realize they are different from other kids in their age group. See, I can admit my mistakes.

Now I have a question for you, since you seem to know everything. How can gays get “married” if it’s been scientifically(sp?) proven they can’t procreate? Marriage is about procreating right? How can they be married if they can’t create life?

  • Emily

Why? Because I don’t think gays should be “married”? Oh, ok. Whatever.

  • Emily

I would like to add one thing, if you don’t mind. In the third warning of Fatima: The devil is going to come out of Hell in human form and pretend to be the pope. Don’t when that will happen though, after Pope Benedict XVI or after another pope. I don’t know, but it will happen. Everything the Catholic Church stood for will mean nothing when Satan becomes the pope. So gays will be allowed to “marry” in the Catholic churches. When judgement day comes….. may God have mercy on your souls.

  • Surfratt05

God did create marriage for man to procreate with women in the sacred bond. I have read more than one book on the matter. Sodom and Gamora are an example of what God thinks about sex outside the sacred bond. It is not forbiden to be gay, but it is forbiden by God to have sex before marriage, and God lays out the eternal laws of marriage. Homosexual partnerships are made by man. The laws concerning them are made by man. If you are a reader as you claim, then you have not read too much history in your life. As far as being equal, why can two gays live together and be covered by each others insurance, and two straight people can’t unless they are married? If I lived with a woman that I was not married to, she would not be covered on my insurance, but two gays live together and they can be, but gays don’t have as many rights as non-gays. Give me a break.
