Celebrities React: Donald Trump Nordstrom Tweet About Ivanka Trump
Nordstrom recently announced it will no longer carry the Ivanka Trump Collection, putting the blame on the line’s alleged poor performance. Others, however, have suggested that the company broke ties over Trump’s controversial presidency. Now the president himself is firing back.
“My daughter Ivanka has been treated so unfairly by @Nordstrom. She is a great person — always pushing me to do the right thing! Terrible!” he tweeted on Wednesday morning. The comment prompted responses from celebs, including Andy Cohen, who replied, “Is there a point when you’re going to start acting like a President?”
Kal Penn observed, “White House schedule says his Daily Intelligence Briefing was at 10:30am. This was the tweet he sent at 10:51am.” Justin Long cracked in response to him, “In fairness, 20 minutes of listening to his intelligence advisor, the teacher from Peanuts, is about all anyone would need. Judd Apatow also said to Penn, “You know our so called president tweeted mid meeting. Maybe he missed the part about Assad hanging 13 thousand people cause of shoes concern.
“If only our so called President listened to her,” Apatow also said of the Ivanka tweet, adding “I love @Nordstrom and will keep shopping there to make a point– and I need slacks!” Seth Rogen, who has mocked Trump’s tweets, wrote, “Hey @OfficeGovEthics, I’m digging this new vibe…” Ron Howard remarked, “I often promote my daughter’s work. But I’m in entertainment. #PrezTrump not a Reality TV star anymore! Is this what US voted for? Really?”
Kumail Nanjiani noted, “Trump’s enemies: 1. Refugees 2. Judges 3. Nordstrom.” George Lopez posted, adding a Mexican insult, “Dollar Tree Line 2 #FTP #pelosmelapela.” Albert Brooks also quipped, “Trump tweets Ivanka was treated very unfairly by Nordstrom. Hey, me too. They refused a refund on slightly used underwear.”
More seriously, Alyssa Milano asked, “How many Americans does @Nordstrom employ? Is below tweet meant to hurt this American company for personal reasons?” Beth Behrs expressed, “Hey @Nordstrom I am a huge fan and love to shop with you! Even more so because you support love and kindness over racists.” Mia Farrow said, “I’ve never plugged a store but Nordstrom is great.”
And, upon seeing a news story about Trump’s tweet, Bethenny Frankel posted, “This can’t be real.” Alas, it is not fake news.
