Celebrities are reacting to the news that Don Rickles is dead at 90. See tributes below.

The legendary insult comedian, who was a fixture in Las Vegas and on the “Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson,” died at home in Los Angeles on Thursday from kidney failure. Younger audiences knew him from playing Mr. Potato Head in the Toy Story films. Now, Hollywood stars are reacting to Rickles’s death.

Patton Oswalt tweeted, “In lieu of flowers, Don Rickles’ family has requested that people drop their pants and fire a rocket. #RIPDonRickles.” Billy Crystal expressed, “Don Rickles has passed away. A giant loss.” And the late comedian’s pal Jimmy Kimmel wrote, “90 years with Don Rickles weren’t enough. One of the sweetest and most lovely people I had the pleasure of knowing. We miss you already.”

Jim Gaffigan simply stated, “RIP Don Rickles. Legend.” Billy Eichner offered, “RIP Don Rickles. One of the funniest people that ever lived, you dumb schmuck.” Carson Daly added, “#RIPDonRickles God’s gonna get a good roasting real soon.” And Larry King wrote “A national treasure is gone. Don Rickles’ talent was limitless. To know him was a gift. He kept me laughing during 58-years of friendship.”

Jeffrey Ross called Rickles, “The Greatest Of All Time,” while Jason Alexander similarly felt, “Don Rickles was simply the best. He created insult comedy &yet every 1 of his targets felt loved and honored. One of a kind. #RIPdonrickles.” “Don Rickles, you kept us laughing for so many years. We will miss you dearly. Thanks for the zingers. You were one of a kind,” shared George Takei.

Jim Carrey tweeted, “Don once begged me for a couple of bucks then told me to twist myself into a pretzel. Ego slayer! Comic Everest! Spank you, Mr Rickles. ;^)” Eric Stonestreet wrote, “One person I always wanted to meet and shake hands with. RIP Don Rickles.” And on Instagram, Josh Gad shared a personal photo he once took with the icon, and added a lengthy caption about his experience meeting the late comic.

Back on Twitter, Craig Ferguson expressed, “Aw jeez. Rickles. Sweetest, funniest, legend and mensch. Came to a party at my house gave me a dollar and told me to get a nicer place. #RIP.” Marlee Matlin stated, “Don Rickles will be remembered as the comedian who broke the rules back before there were “insult” comics. My condolences to his family. RIP.” Danny De Vito also said, “Awwww man Rickles is dead. Rest In Peace buddy.”

Tom Bergeron shared, “Fond memory of a lunch shared during a Hollywood Squares tape day, where he told me tales of working w Sinatra #RIP.” Nigel Lythgoe said, “God bless #DonRickles It was a pleasure meeting you and an honor to be insulted by you.
