Celebrities are reacting to YouTube sensation Adam Saleh being kicked off a Delta flight. He claims he was booted from the flight for allegedly speaking in Arabic, though there are some who are questioning whether it was part of a hoax. See stars’ tweets below.

Saleh, a YouTube celebrity who has pulled off a few plane pranks, accused Delta Airlines of kicking him off a flight for speaking to his mom on the phone in Arabic shortly before taking off from London to New York. While all the details have yet to emerge, according to Delta, 20 other passengers onboard the plane voiced “discomfort” with Saleh and another Arabic-speaking friend. In a video Saleh posted to Twitter, which was retweeted more than 500,000 times, the Internet star can be seen being escorted off the plane along with his companion by Delta staff.

Delta initially said in a statement, “We take all allegations of discrimination seriously and we are gathering all of the facts before jumping to any conclusion. Our culture requires treating everyone with respect.” The airline vaguely added there was a “disturbance in the cabin” of Delta Flight 1, resulting in “more than 20 customers expressing their discomfort. We have spoken with the customers who were removed; they were rebooked on another flight.”

On Wednesday evening, Delta issued another statement that read, “Upon landing the crew was debriefed and multiple passenger statements collected. Based on the information collected to date, it appears the customers who were removed sought to disrupt the cabin with provocative behavior, including shouting.” “This type of conduct is not welcome on any Delta flight,” noted the airline, which acknowledged Saleh is a “known prankster.” Delta concluded, “It is clear these individuals sought to violate” the comfort and safety of others on the plane.

With more than 1.6 million subscribers to his YouTube channel, the incident quickly garnered an immense social media reaction. Olivia Wilde tweeted, “You’ve got to be kidding me, @Delta. We won’t be flying with you again. Unbelievable,” adding, “Fellow Americans, we are not defined by our narrow-minded President elect. If you witness discrimination, stand up and demand justice.” Josh Gad expressed, “2016 may well be defined by humans losing their humanity. Scary times. Sad times. Dangerous times. This is getting sickeningly repetitive.”

French Montana similarly offered, “I don’t like speaking on things like this but this struck a nerve. I have a mother that doesn’t speak English and discrimination like this makes me really sad. The fact that this can happen to her makes me sick. I’m NOT using delta anymore smh #equality.” Maggie Gyllenhaal felt, “This is terrifying. I will not be flying with @Delta.”

“Absolutely ridiculous @delta shame on you once again delta for real this video is appalling sorry dude this happened to you,” tweeted Aaron Carter. And Halsey wrote, “Hey @Delta I’m diamond medallion passenger + after seeing the way you treated @omgAdamSaleh you can lose my 100+ person tour crew’s business.”

Gossip Cop should caution that not all the facts have come out yet, and we will continue to update as more information emerges about Saleh being kicked off the Delta flight. See the video below that Saleh posted to Twitter as he was removed from the flight.
