I don’t get it. Is other violence OK then. I wish there was an answer but I don,t know what it is. But for sure we don’t want to offend people coming into the country illegally.

do you people not get it? a lot of kids who weren’t even old enough to know what violence is were killed by a gunman. it’s just another school shooting. it was only in july that a gunman killed and injured people going to a movie. we almost had another movie shooting in November if it weren’t for the gunman’s mom turning him in before he could. oh and surprise surprise what do all three gunman in these examples have in common? they’re mentally unstable and had guns. of course people are going to call for stuff like this to happen. i realize that guns aren’t the only form of violence out there and i don’t think we should get rid of them. but innocent lives were taken by a gunman. measures have to be taken to make sure that the people who do have access to guns have the right mind to have them. and of course other forms of violence are not ok at all but these kids weren’t beaten to death they were shot. guns aren’t a problem until people make them one i.e. the gunmen who kill innocent lives for whatever reasons. it doesn’t surprise me that this video exists. Celebrities are allowed to care about something like this. Most of them, if not all, are parents. This is a parent’s worst nightmare. get over it and show some respect.

I completely agree with this video. I am from Australia & we have had tight gun control laws since the Port Arthur massacre in 1996 (35 dead). Our laws don’t stop you from owning a gun as long as you have a gun licence (to get one you must meet certain criteria) and it is properly locked up when not in use so children or others can’t get hold of it. The main thing our gun laws stopped is the ownership of semi-automatic or automatic weapons….guns that you can just hold the trigger down & don’t have to think about who or what you are shooting. Since our gun laws have been introduced we have not had a mass shooting at all & it has succeeded. I don’t know why Americans are so against gun control when it will save lives.

Although it is commendable that they are taking a stand, when each one of these actors decides not to star in a movie that has a gun or some kind of violence (I recall Beyonce making a very bad movie about a stalker that she beat the crap out of) then maybe I’ll take them seriously. I am not disparaging their cause, what happened at Newtown should never happen to anyone, especially children. But tell me how many movies in Hollywood have excessive violence in them? Quentin Tarantino anyone?

A plan ,yes…but do not take guns aware from our right to bear arms . The lack of responsiblility is what also needs correction. Most of these children or young adults that do theae horrific crimes ,use their parents guns or riffles,or take them during a robbing. There needs to be stricter a psychiatric evaluation/or a behavioral science applied to the process of receiving a hand gun permit. Completely eradicating guns from all USA citizens is not the solution. Personally I love Australia ,but i live here in America. Yes Australia has no massacres in years since guns are not allowed but did you k.ow that per 100,000 citizens Australia has a 12.8 suicide rate and the USA has almost a 12% rate. Did you know Finland requires or encourages home owners to have guns and Finland is one of the safest places with no or hardly any massacres? Yes we need a complete restruction of the gun permit process but not a removal. Gun owners need to be more responsible when It comes to proper storage of the firearm. Healthcare neds to be better ,having better plans for me’stal illness claims ..most Insurances only cover so many visits per year ,there should not be a limit to mental healthcare visits. Gun ownership comes down to responsibility. Look what happened when the US went through alcohol prohibition ? There is no way that guns will be totally eradicated from the USA. Just as illegal drugs ,there is a black market for everything.I’m sorry ,but call me all the name you want , no mother should be taking her child to a shooting range when he is classified under a mental/behavioral/neurological disorder . You can go fight for your county at what 17 years of age and use a gun but you cant have a drink with your dad at a local pub? But your responsible enough to shoot & kill others and die in your countries honor ? I do agree that guns laws need a complete overhaul. If a persons career requires them to go through a phychiatric evaluation before approving them stable to carry a gun ,why should that requirement not go to every gun oqner ,hand gun & shot gun?
