Star Mag Wrongly Claims That Michael Douglas Cancer Has Gotten Worse

“Michael & Catherine Saying Goodbye,” reads this week’s Star cover about Michael Douglas, explaining right below, “As his cancer takes a turn for the worse, Michael’s devastated wife rushes back from overseas to share every last moment.”
The tab further claims that a day after Catherine Zeta-Jones welcomed the Ryder Cup golf tournament to her native Wales, “She received a shocking call from his medical team… And within hours, Catherine was rushing back to be by [Douglas'] side in NYC — worried she might be heading home to say goodbye.”
According to Star, Zeta-Jones is now “giving her all to calm and comfort her ailing husband of nearly 10 years – in what might be a final tribute to the love they’ve shared.”
Wait, is the prognosis suddenly far worse that the 80 percent chance of survival Douglas has cited?
No.
A rep for Douglas tells Gossip Cop exclusively that the Star story is “complete rubbish.” There has been “no turn for the worse,” and Catherine Zeta-Jones “did not rush back” home after the Ryder Cup event.
In fact, she was on the exact same flight she had always been booked on to return home.
The rep also informs Gossip Cop, “Tomorrow is [Douglas'] last day of treatment,” and as opposed to Star‘s morbid account of how these are possibly his last days, the Oscar winner is going to recuperate for the next six weeks, and then “hopes to announce he’s clean.”
