Catherine Zeta-Jones, Michael Douglas NOT Fighting Over His Son Cameron, Despite Report
Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas are NOT fighting as a result of the actor’s son, Cameron Douglas, being released from prison and spending time with the family, despite an inaccurate tabloid report. Gossip Cop can exclusively bust this claim. We’re told it’s “fiction.”
Cameron was released from prison in July after spending seven years behind bars for possession of heroin and selling methamphetamine. And now, according to OK!, Zeta-Jones is having trouble welcoming her stepson back into the family. A so-called “source” tells the magazine, “Catherine is trying her best to be gracious to Cam when Michael brings him around, but things have been tense.”
The outlet’s dubious insider further claims Michael has tried to convince his wife that Cameron is “a changed man,” but it’s still “hard for her to trust him.” The “source” further contends the actress doesn’t want her two teenage children hanging out with their half-brother, adding, “She’s really worried about the influence Cameron could have on them.”
But Gossip Cop checked in with a rep for Douglas, who exclusively assures us the tabloid’s article is pure “fiction.” We’re assured both Zeta-Jones and the rest of the family have been nothing but supportive of Cameron, who’s currently living in a halfway house in Brooklyn and doing well. Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time Gossip Cop has had to debunk a fabricated report surrounding Cameron’s parole.
We previously busted OK!’s sister publication, the National Enquirer, for wrongly alleging Cameron was only released from prison because his dad is “dying.” And shortly after that tall tale, Gossip Cop corrected that same tabloid for falsely claiming Michael and Cameron have become mafia targets. There was no truth to either of those ridiculous stories, and the same goes for this latest one.
