Jennifer Lopez & Casper Smart to Sue Over “Gay Sex Club” Story

The new Star cover attack on Jennifer Lopez and Casper Smart is a doozy — and the couple is planning to fight back.

According to the tabloid, which has published fiction about them for months, Smart “betrayed” Lopez by getting “caught” in a “gay sex club.”

What supposedly happened?

Star suggests that paparazzi photos of Smart allegedly entering an X-rated peepshow in New York on July 23 are evidence that he’s engaged in sexual activities behind Lopez’s back.

The pictures — which everyone saw and mostly ignored a week ago — don’t actually show anything.

Smart is seen talking on his cell phone in the middle of Manhattan in broad daylight, making no effort to hide.

He momentarily steps into a door and then comes back out.

That’s it.

But Star falsely claims he was “caught” in a “sex club.”

Based on… what?

Well, the magazine says it sent an “undercover reporter” into the establishment, only to discover it’s a “well-known cruising spot for gay men looking for instant hookups.”

Star’s correspondent offers a long, fairly graphic description of his investigation of the peepshow and its clientele — but never establishes what, if anything, Smart did there.

In other words, Star has nothing, but still went with the sensationalistic claims.

The tabloid spends a huge chunk of space pretending that previously debunked rumors about Smart’s sexuality somehow prove that something illicit must have happened at the peepshow.

Star also manages to ignore its own staggeringly bad track record with Lopez-Smart stories — such as the time it made up a secret Mexican wedding for the couple or falsely alleged that they were “trying for a baby.”

The lesson, as always, is that Star seemingly knows nothing and makes up stuff.

But this latest failed Star “exclusive” might land the tab in hot water.

Lawyers for Lopez and Smart tell Gossip Cop the tabloid’s bogus cover story is “false, malicious and defamatory.”

“Ms. Lopez and Mr. Smart will pursue all remedies available to them under the law,” their attorneys tell us.

We’re also told that they intend to file a lawsuit against Star.

    Man I just looked at the gay photos on this site, with Casper. You think Jlo’s reps are going to say, “Yes he’s gay” I knew the dude was gay with or without the photos.     The worst thing about these magazine’s is that people actually believe what’s written in them. Does anyone remember when Katie Holmes filed a law suit against the same magazine for insinuating she was on drugs. Hello people….wake up. If Casper’s story were true, all those so called witnesses would be on every reputable news source. So much BS. I wonder WHO is behind all of this. Someone is really obessed at trying to ruin his reputation and trying to make JLO look like a fool. People talk about her being married 3 times and calling her names (like slut). I can list many women in the entertainment industry who’ve had MANY MANY intimate partners – more than JLO. The only reason they single JLO out is because she’s been married 3 times. What’s the point of all of this and calling her names? Is having many intimate partners better than being married 3 times? Let them enjoy life and their relationship. If it’s meant to be, then be it, if not they had a hell of a time with each other. GET A LIFE.

    Well I do believe what I see, pictures don’t lie. He’s sayin he never was there at the 24hr. peepshow, the pictures tell you a different story. He betrayed her that’s what he did! Not only did he betrayed her but made her look like a fool! If he says he wasn’t there then he’s a bare face liar, the pictures are living proof! She let him into her life alittle too quickly and introduced him to her kids. I wouldn’t want a sleaze bag pervert around my kids! They don’t need to be around garbage like that. Marc is already threatening to take away the kids because of all this mess. She should’ve done something about this guy months ago when the rumors first surfaced about him being gay, but no she ignored everything and kept it at a whole. Now look what happened all this crap again is happening again! She should get rid of him before things get worse than what it is! DUMP HIM ASAP!

    People like to laugh at the tabloids and pretend that all the stories are made up, but consider this: It was either “Globe” or “National Enquirer” that exposed the TRUE story about married presidential hopeful Gary Hart and his girlfried Donna Rice who were photographed on a boat called “Monkey Business”. The truth ruined Hart. It was another tabloid who printed the TRUE story about “the REVrund” Jesse Jackson’s illegitimate child by his girlfriend.The mainstream media ignored that one, at first. It was the “National Enquirer” or “Globe” who doggedly kept after Rielle Hunter, mistress of the married John Edwards’
    who gave birth to their child. The list goes on and on. Tabloids have no need to make up stories about celebrities, most of whom are attention-seeking, immoral, spiritually-bankrupt people, and because of that, there’s a goldmine of stories out there. I don’t know or care about Jennifer Lopez’ boyfriend, but he sure does LOOK gay!
