Carrie Underwood And Kelly Clarkson To Perform On ‘American Idol’ Series Finale
Carrie Underwood and Kelly Clarkson will perform live on the upcoming series finale of “American Idol,” it was announced on Thursday. The two former winners of the iconic singing competition show will also be joined by many past contestants and judges during the three-night grand finale.
The TV event kicks off with a 90-Minute retrospective that will take a look back at some of the best moments from the past 15 seasons of the show. The behind-the-scenes episode will feature in-depth interviews with host Ryan Seacrest, original judges Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson, as well as former winners and contestants.
The following night will be taped live from the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles and feature the finalists’ last-ever performances before the final votes are tallied. And then on the last night of the three-part farewell show, Underwood and Clarkson will return to the stage, in addition to many former stars from past seasons.
Some of the night’s performers will include Clay Aiken, Katharine McPhee, Kellie Pickler, Constantine Maroulis, Ruben Studdard, Fantasia, Taylor Hicks, Jordin Sparks, Justin Guarini and many more. There are also expected to be many surprise appearances, and of course, the Season 15 winner will be crowned. The “American Idol” three-night grand finale kicks off on April 5.
