Carrie Underwood “American Idol” Series Finale Video: Watch Two Performances!
Carrie Underwood performed “Something In The Water” on Thursday’s “American Idol” series finale. “I’m gonna cry,” she exclaimed afterward. Watch below!
Underwood was one of many “Idol” winners to return for the last episode of the FOX music competition. She was joined by predecessors Ruben Studdard and Fantasia, as well as a number of successors, from Taylor Hicks and Jordin Sparks to last season’s winner Nick Fradiani. Underwood was announced as one of the finale headliners late last month.
The country superstar, of course, kicked off her career with “Idol” back in 2004, auditioning with Bonnie Raitt’s “I Can’t Make You Love Me.” As the season progressed in 2005, Underwood became one of the frontrunners. On May 25 of that year, she beat Bo Bice to become the season 4 winner.
The next month, Underwood’s first single, “Inside Your Heaven,” was released. The song debuted at number one on the Billboard Hot 100. Five studio albums have followed, including last year’s Storyteller.
Underwood is currently in the midst of her “Storyteller Tour: Stories in the Round.” She took time out for last weekend’s Academy of Country Music Awards. And now she’s returned to where it all began. Earlier in the finale, she even did a duet with former tour mate and “Idol” judge Keith Urban.
