“Is This Carly Rae Jepsen In A SEX TAPE?!” blares a headline from Perez Hilton, who rarely knows the answers to his own questions.

The blogger reports, “A video has surfaced on the net depicting a young woman who bears a STRIKING resemblance to Carly Rae Jepsen having all sorts of intimate time with a gentleman caller!”

Perez notes that Kanye West and Katy Perry’s “E.T.” is playing in the background of the tape, adding, “So you know it’s pretty recent!”

“Yet another reminder to put those camera phones away, folks!” scolds Perez.

But is the woman in the video really Jepsen?

ABSOLUTELY NOT.

The “Call Me Maybe” singer slammed the rumor on Twitter, writing, “Crazy morning. Discovered that someone put up a sex tape claiming to be me. Ridiculous. Obviously not me.”

This story is yet another reminder of Perez Hilton’s continual carelessness in celebrity reporting.

    I kind of douobt all of these now. A new industry of “sex tape” lookalikes seems to have cropped up over the last year or so. Have no idea why or how they make money at it, but I guess they do or maybe it’s just “for the hell of it” like hackers. They go find girls who look somewhat like a particular star, pose her to best advantage and then shop the tapes.
